What about Byron Jones going from draft bust to all pro in his first year with KR? Obviously the switch to CB helped but he was a CB first then went to safety, then back to CB under KR and balled out.

We averaged the 19th ranked pass defense in the two years before KR, and 10th in the two years with him.

I thought there was a clear and obvious improvement in our secondary with KR. Especially his 1st year.

What metric are you using for pass defense? Just total yards?

I don’t think we should rely on that I’m just saying the Giants now pending this coaching hire are pretty talent depleted aside from a few players and are a few years out. Washington with a better coaching hire will be improved I’m sure but still relatively young offense with a QB I don’t for see being very good at the helm. The defense however will be very much improved. And the Eagles as of now remain the only true competition in the division and I don’t see how they maintain the way there going as they are a fairly older team and at the very least will be going through a mini rebuild. We remain unchanged with a coach who has been to the promise land. We can only go up with someone who has had playoff success like he has and keeping a young innovative OC to keep with the trends and game planning. It will be good for McCarthy and Dak having a familiar face to turn to.

I remember when the 2004 Bills and 2007 Browns were supposed to be garbage and give us a top 5 pick in the next drafts, only to end up in the 20s. Bill Parcells led us to 10 wins with Quincy Carter and Troy Hambrick coming off of three consecutive 5-11 seasons.

Do I think the Giants and Redskins are going to suck next year? I do. But they also have new coaches and young QBs. It’s not at all impossible that everything clicks alright for one of them. And the Eagles?  Well they are certainly a decent bet to be a double digit win team next year.

I just think to say “we’ll make the playoffs because our division is weak” is naive to the way the NFL actually works.

If he can get Callahan back to coach the OL I’ll be thru the moon

The Packers old OL coach is argued as the best in the NFL. He is the one that has created the "arms wide"/Legal holding that everyone gets so upset about. He went to the CLE staff last year; Kitchens just go fired.

I would *love* to have him here. Keep Columbo as well. I didnt realize it, but apparently we brough Houck back last year as a "consultant OL coach". So Columbo already has to be used to a technique guy being over his shoulder.
