TitanLegend Posted January 20, 2020 Share Posted January 20, 2020 As good as Arthur Smith was over the last half of the year, the drive before half with the run, run, screen was so god awful. Was more concerned with burning clock than scoring points. I said it in the 3rd quarter. That was the beginning of the game being over. Playing conservative against a team that can score at will is a joke. It's now about how we can maximize this team and be better next year. Luckily we extended our season so it doesn't leave as much time to sit in the year and look forward to next year. We knocked about a month off the off-season talk with the deep playoff run. Next week (this week?) is Senior Bowl, then the combine will be shortly after that and boom. FA. and then draft. I hate going run, run, screen and basically just trying to chew clock before the half ends instead of score points. If you're not aggressive, the other team will be and you'll lose. Playing soft coverage and rushing 3 is alright if you hold the team to FGs. In fact, "bend but don't break" defense was what I said was probably the best chance to beat them.
