He was really good last year.

He's not going to sign a Lewis type of deal. You'll be talking 5 million would be my guess. Sullivan, Hollman and Jackson need to step up. If I'm the GM I can't do it, but look at what Jenkins got from NOLA.

Agreed. We should've moved on from him before last year.

We had 6 DBs on the field for 52% of snaps last year. You need 6 DBs before you start accounting for injury. Tramon and Sullivan play together. Jackson is probably a bust, and Hollman likely isn't anything better.

Tramon at 1/5 is great value. Have you seen these contracts this year???

I see the point in doing it but he's going to be 37. If one is of the ilk to go all in this year, he makes sense. I can't rationalize 2.5% of my cap on a 37 year old DB.

I mean Alexander just signed 1/4 for Cincy. You should be able to get Tramon for about 1/3.5. He played well last year but he's also like 45 years old.

dude was a rookie last year and a later round pick. Not sure you can write him off so easily. Jackson's a 2nd round pick who had two years now and has hardly played; we can say he's a bust at this point; trade him if you can.

If we trade for Ngakoue it better be a straight up Gary or Preston for Ngakoue trade.  Otherwise that would be the epitome of overkill at EDGE, underkill elsewhere.  I cannot fathom the stupidity of having three premier EDGE players plus a top 15 pick.

Unless we’re planning on Gary playing purely IDL and gaining some weight, that would be near the top of my least favorite offseason moves.

I hadn't given much thought about the assets we would need to spend but won't the cap itself be prohibitive? And yeah, why get another premier DE when we have more important holes to fill in the lineup.

1. I thought they only gave out 32 comp picks? After cancellations Fackrell is on the bubble of us getting one.

2. No chance on Goodson unless the Giants have him 3.5 million more than he's worth.

I'd say we have 2 right now and a 4th and 5th seems right.

Fackrell will easily get us a compensatory pick at 4.6 million. For the 2020 draft 4 million seemed to be the cutoff for a 6th round pick.  Goodson is still up in the air until the contract details are released.

The last compensatory pick that was awarded for 2020 was at 1.3 million apy. https://overthecap.com/compensatory-draft-picks-cancellation-chart/
