Giants release LB Ogletree and Martin

Alec should come on back to LA - as long as he's cheap.

Not a great player but not terrible and could be a decent solution for the Rams at ILB.

4th highest paid at the position allegedly. Definitely needs to go down in price, wherever he goes.

Big $ savings.

For what? And why? Why aren't they keeping their own?

Crazy.

So they can franchise Leonard Williams of course! ;)

Why...would they do that...?

Alec Ogletree has been bad. Out of position, bad angles, and missed tackles. Maybe he’ll have better luck in a different scheme / role. But he wore out his welcome in NY. At his price tag, this cut is no surprise

They both suck and were making too much money.

Are the Giants in trouble with the cap? I thought they weren't--and so, didn't look that up.

Have to think Ogletree finds a pretty soft landing somewhere.  I get why the Giants do this...he's not really worth that cap number and they need to completely remake that roster anyway.  But somebody is going to get a decent player out of the deal.  Just so long as they have the DC to deploy him correctly to his strengths and minimize his deficiencies.

After this move, we have somewhere around 80 million in cap space.
