Makes the trade away of averyblook much worse, as well as losing nassib and ogbah. I agree we keep vernon because we have no one else. And honestly, hes being paid a lot, we are paying him to be the 12th highest paid edge rusher in the league, which he is not worth. That being said we are also paying Myles Garrett to be the 29th highest paid edge rusher in the league, which is WAY under value. All and all 25 million dollars for Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon is not that bad.
CBrownsman
I also think people are under-rating OBJ and Vernon because they had down seasons last year. I would give them both another full year in Browns uniforms and see if our tune changes...

I wouldn't say we didn't have much return. We did have what, 34 sacks through 12 weeks of the season? We were on pace for 45, which would have been top 10 in the nfl. Didn't help that Garrett got himself suspended. That Vernon got hurt. Again I don't think that vernon is fairly compensated. We owe him 15 million which is a ton of money. But I also think for 1 year its that bad. Its less money than a franchise tag. Its less money than a transition tag. Hell its less money than a 5th year option at this point... No reason to let him go. I think we might but I would much rather have a replacement for him before we do because we have nothing behind him

He was a ST player for them mainly. Its not like he played and was an immediate impact player. Avery wasnt playing here in Cleveland because of Dorsey. Dorsey turned a player who couldnt even dress on Sundays into a pick. The Nassib in Tampa isnt the same Nassib that was here in Cleveland. Ogbah was trash here even when he was lined up across from Garrett. He couldnt create pressure or keep contain. Nassib and Ogbah prolly produced cause they werent playing for the likes of Cleveland Wilks Horton and Williams. Dorsey didnt win every trade but he was about 50/50 with his trades. He had some great ones and some bad ones, like every GM

Everyone wanted that big nickel scheme package and it forced Avery to change positions Being new is a BS excuse. Look at Mack, when he was traded to the bears. He was traded Sept 1st and the first game was the 9th. He single hand won that week1 game for the bears. If Avery was such a stud pass rusher, not hard to be put in on 3rd and long and be told to rush the QB dorsey might have been a turd of a GM but so was Sashi. dorsey wasn’t the reason Avery was a failure in Cleveland and Philly

Different tho, we didn’t sign him cause of his connections like Hubbard had with Haley or potentially Hill with Stef

One is a top 3 pass rusher in the nfl, the other a 5th round. 2 minutes ago, buno67 said: Sashi took us when we were down and took us even lower.
