The Lions have a weak linebacker core, so Kyle Rudolph and Dalvin are going to wind up as the X-factors to this game.

huh? Jarrad Davis looks as if he is becoming something actually, maybe, special for him the way he flies around. In the first two games he looks like he is developing faster than I imagined. I'm sure if he plays the screen game may be an issue for us. That is if he plays. Tahir Whitehead is also having a helluva season. He is good. Dang near a top 10 rated linebacker this year. Their 3rd LB Paul Worrilow is garbage tho, but if we get some points on the board we will most likely see a heavier dose of another rookie Jalen Reeves-Maybin who isn't a joke either.

As I said in the other thread, this will be another test for our offensive line. A'Swat Robinson is a difficult guy for a short QB (Keenum), Ngata is no joke even with age, and this year we will see a healthy Ansah.

Slay most likely will be put to the test with Thielen and Diggs, but Lawson and Hayden are definitely two guys we can see getting beat.

For our defense to stop them we have to contain Abdullah, much like we did last week. Big part of that is get on the board early in the game. One solid this the Lions are very good at is when they can get up-tempo. We can no allow this. It's why we see the Lions with all these 4th quarter comebacks. I also stated previously that this game may be the game where we see Hunter break out. First RT that is complete enough to maybe allow Hunter to see some one vs. one action without slide protection. Most likely will see the other side get more help with the Robinson vs. Griffen match-up. Big game for him to see if he can beat Wagner.

Matthew Stafford was benched for a poor performance against the Arizona Cardinals back in October 2015. The Lions quarterback threw three interceptions in less than three quarters, forcing Jim Caldwell to turn to Dan Orlovsky. Stafford didn’t lose his starting spot, he was in for the first snap for all 16 games that year. But that was the catalyst for the coordinator change that would soon follow. Jim Bob Cooter took over the Lions offense and set about easing the pressure on his quarterback. Cooter implemented safer passing concepts that concentrated Stafford’s reads in specific areas of the field. He threw outside and short more than over the middle.

Screens became a major part of the offense’s identity. In 2016 Stafford led the league with 76 screens. Cooter didn’t turn Stafford into something he wasn’t or build this very specific offense that highlighted his strengths, he babied him. He tried to limit his impact on games by asking him to do less, it’s why 23.39 percent, the second-highest rate in the league, of Stafford’s throws didn’t cross the line of scrimmage last year.

Only 9.42 percent of Matthew Stafford’s passes travelled further than 20 yards past the line of scrimmage, 23 quarterbacks in the league were more aggressive. 28 quarterbacks threw a higher percentage of their passes further than 10 yards downfield.

how about Everson and Hunter with blazing interceptions behind the line of scrimmage with run backs for td's? anyone up for that?

Despite his contract...and how much the Lions value him...it's crazy to think how underrated Matthew Stafford is.  Outside of Brady, there is probably not another quarterback in the league that I would want the ball in his hands with two minutes left and the game on the line.  Stafford will be slinging all afternoon...the Vikes will need exceptional coverage from the DB's.

He's not underrated.  He's a good quarterback, but not a great quarterback.  I'd put him behind Phillip Rivers in the pantheon of current QBs, but ahead of Eli Manning (which is sad, considering that Eli will likely undeservedly make the HOF, while Rivers will probably be overlooked).

I think the big four are Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers...followed by Stafford, Ryan, Roethlisberger, Manning

Ahmad Rashad has been there for many of Michael Jordan’s landmark moments. Now, it’s time for Jordan to return the favor.

Rashad will be inducted into the Vikings Ring of Honor at halftime of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions at U.S. Bank Stadium. He said Jordan will be there along with his wife Yvette.

And who knew that Jordan was a closet Vikings' fan.  I'd pay to see Jordan wear Helga horns.
