Per game Metcalf would have been the leader, but his total came to 2,462 due to those 2 less games. Sproles simply holds to total record with 2,696, but per game you're absolutely right.

he was planning to retire after this season anyway so I think he just hangs it up. He is involved with his kids and coaching their teams. So I bet once he gets back to doing that he won't second guess his decision to walk away.
