Rumors are that they are interested in Jeff Skinner from Carolina and Jack Johnson from Columbus. Rumors going around that Johnson will sign a 5 year/$15-16 M deal with the Pens once Free Agency starts.
beekay414
Wait, the Lightning are meeting with JT, right? They only have like $5 Million in cap room. Man, I'd jump all over taking Tyler Johnson and Braydon Coburn to give them the proper space to sign JT.

I hope this goes through and they're committed to him for 5 years. Jack Johnson is trash.

beekay414
Drew Doughty is about to get an 8 year extension worth an AAV of $11 Million from the Kings.

They probably needed to go that high just to get him to sign. He seemed extremely set on testing the free agent market. At that price, he obviously wasn't going to find better

Forge
Quote The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to terms with defenseman Mike Green on a $10.75 million, two-year contract, the Associated Press reported Saturday. Man, this is a really bad free agent class beyond JT at this point.
Forge
Quote St. Louis Blues goalie Carter Hutton is expected to sign with the Buffalo Sabres once the NHL's free-agency period opens Sunday, according to multiple reports. The two sides are close to having the framework of a deal in place after Hutton visited Buffalo this week, according to reports. Agreements cannot be announced until the signing period begins. Meh. Quote The Montreal Canadiens have acquired right winger Joel Armia, goaltender Steve Mason and a pair of draft picks from the Winnipeg Jets for prospect Simon Bourque. The draft picks were a seventh-round selection in 2019 and a fourth-rounder in 2020. Armia is an okay piece on the third line, but he has gotten better every year, so maybe there is a chance for more, but I'm not going to bank on it. 30 point a year grinder sounds about right. Bourque was an interesting prospect before he hit the minors as a late round project. Guess they really didn't know where he fit in the system though. So basically, Armia / 7th / 4th to take on the contract of Mason, and the Jets get a lottery ticket for a third pairing defenseman. It's not a bad return for the Habs. roysmyboy31
Logan Couture agrees to 8 year, $64m extension Been a very good player for them for a lot of years. Will probably hurt a little towards the end of the deal, but is good for now while they try to win with their current core which has a couple of older players. Very solid offensive player and is also reliable on the other end of the ice.
