Yea, Averett is an injury that matters. We absolutely need every DB on the roster and more. That's why I wanted McSorely's roster spot to go to whoever we saw as the most promising CB who didn't make a roster.

Gonna be a repeat of the playoff game. Lamar going to have to try and put the team on his back while the D can't get off the field.

But it's also 2020 so who knows.

Defense is definitely getting exposed. They continue to trot Jelly out there on defense as opposed to benching him for more Broderick Washington and Jihad Ward reps. Dude is slow and ineffective. He was worse than Domato Peko last season and nothing has changed this season.

Not a premium need, but the team needs to go after another late round NT type. Makes you wonder how bad Daylon Mack must’ve been to get cut while the team kept this slow scrub.

Terrible luck with injuries this year. Inconvenient to severe, the hits just keep on coming in numbers. Asking for a repeat of last year's luck would've been greedy- but...damn.

If the team couldn't find it's form with a largely healthy roster. It's really hard to see them now reaching the expected heights with so many key players injured and key positions thinned out. Which is unfortunate.

If the coaches do decide to open this offense this up with more spread concepts, now that Boyle a lynchpin for so many of our power concepts is gone, it could be a great chance for Lamar to speed up his passing development. If we're looking for a bright side here. Only issue we have is a pretty JAGed out line isn't going to offer him much in terms of protection. So I'll expect a ton of scrambles, if that is the route we take.

Will be tough sledding from here on out. Hope the team shows some real fight down the stretch, and our IR dwellers heal up strong for 2021.

Hopefully we transition to a majority of 11, 12, and perhaps even 13 personnel and don’t try to keep a dying hope alive. Even with Boyle as one of the best blocking TEs in the league and Ricard as one of the most physical blocking FBs in the league, the run game had only been producing average efficiency numbers. Hopefully this coaching staff isn’t foolish enough to try and insert some average blocking TE into the equation and think that those results will somehow improve.

I honestly have more hope for Roman being able to construct a capable passing attack than a street level FA to come in and duplicate what Boyle brought to our offense. Though perhaps the answer isn’t to have another blocking TE in the game? Perhaps a more capable receiving TE that’s a greater threat as Hurst was might present the offense a boost, maybe Eli Wolfe can be that guy? That I don’t know, but hopefully the coaches can figure out a viable solution to this problem because the team has to be more efficient offensively. That’s for sure.

Pretty standard injury report. The entire defensive line not practicing, 1/3 of our healthy CB's not practicing, oh and our most important OL not practicing.

This is 2015-levels of bad.

Of all the years, would be nice to have another versatile move piece like Mekari. If only James Hurst wasn’t already playing for the Saints, he’d be the perfect addition as a versatile OL that can fill in at multiple spots.

IIRC, it was James Hurst that got Drew Brees killed, so no thanks there lol
