Higher upside, way more defensive versatility, and can play with the ball in his hands. Scottie going to ORL. He's dead meat.

I'd 100% swing on the potential of Kuminga over Mitchell or trade down. Remember a few years back, there was a raw, freak athlete prospect, who had a great work ethic. The Thunder took him #4 overall when most didn't even have him ranked as a top 10 prospect. Seemed to work out pretty well as he went on to become an MVP. @FinneasGage sees a few interviews of a guy who's not even a native english speaker and calls him soft. And also says that he wasn't a "dog" because he had some bad moments after a strong start due to a foot injury in weird circumstances. Anyone that was around Kuminga in the bubble or at the early G-League practices said he has an incredible work ethic. And OKC is a nice spot for him because you have good player development. If SGA/Kuminga hit their ceiling that's a potential championship caliber tandem.

Idk what the hype is about with him It was over the course of a 13 game sample size in a last minute make shift bubble in Orlando while he was the youngest player in the league and playing with a nagging injury. IIRC he agitated the foot injury during their 3rd game and it clearly bothered him. Through the first 3 games he was balling and everyone that saw him healthy during the scrimmages before the bubble said he was by far the best player on the court. There have been multiple executives, former players, and coaches that have praised his toughness, character, and work ethic. He'll be able to defend 1-4 and I totally disagree that he's a tweener PF. The biggest swing factor for him will be hitting 3's with more consistency. The hype around him is because he came a year early flashed elite level talent in scrimmages and in the bubble games and his physical profile is essentially identical to Kawhi Leonards. Brian Shaw said that he reminds him so much of a young Jaylen Brown coming into the league. We've seen it time and time again, teams pass on guys with elite god given ability for "safer" players, those guys go on to be dudes and the guys with the elite tools become great players. I mean in just recent draft history we've seen it with guys like Jaylen Brown, Pascal Siakam, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Giannis etc.
NYRaider
It's shocking to me that you like guys like Poku and Bazley so much but not Kuminga @Kirill. You hate on Kuminga for not playing great on a make shift roster while injured. But he absolutely bodied Poku when they played in the G-League bubble. And Bazley was too scared to even play in the G-League because he was afraid to play against grown men.

NYRaider
But yeah @Kirill the Thunder are in a great spot with their young core. I mean your young guys lit it up last season. Bazley averaged 13.7 ppg on 39% FG Lu Dort averaged 14.0 ppg on 38% FG Theo Maledon averaged 10.1 ppg on 36% FG Aleksej Pokusevski averaged 8.2 ppg on 34% FG Best position of any team in the league, 100%.
NYRaider
@Kirill Poku averaged 7.9 ppg on 31% FG, 27% 3FG, and 57% FT in the G-League Bubble in 25 mpg. When Poku and Kuminga matched up head to head in the G-League, Ignite beat your pro players, lol. Kuminga had 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists on 7/15 FG, 2/5 3FG, 7/10 FT in 29 minutes. Poku had 6 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists on 2/13 FG, 2/8 3FG, in 26 minutes.
brownie man
People must not watch the actual games. Kuminga is an absolute great prospect. He definitely has the talent to become an all star level player.

These guys all suck I'll give you that. Dort is decent, like a better Marcus Smart. We needed to get a top 4 pick this year. But the reality is our GM is going to get us multiple stars with this many picks. He's too good at drafting not to.

You were praising Poku like a week ago and he got destroyed by Kuminga and played significantly worse in the same bubble. Quote He was the youngest player in the league under trying circumstances in the pandemic bubble and playing against stronger G League lineups than in typical years with many teams not sending their affiliates to play, concentrating talent on those that remained. And by all accounts he's an extremely hard worker.
