BDL Mock Draft 4.0

Round 1:
1. Gotham Gashslayers: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
No change here from last week. Gotham lands probably the top player in the class and fills a need at pass rusher across from FA acquisition Shaq Barrett.

2. Seoul Dragons: Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
CB is one area that Seoul didn't really attack through the draft last year. He's in a great position now to add some talent to his secondary. Stingley probably should go a bit lower than this based solely on performance but with his traits and upside I wouldn't be shocked to still see him go this high.

3. Cancun Kaiju: DeMarvin Leal, INT, Texas A&M
Another pick that is staying the same here, it just makes too much sense. Cancun is losing their top two interior DL players this offseason and have little behind them. While one of Stephon Tuitt or Akiem Hicks could be brought back, Cancun would be wise to get some youth at the position as well.

4. Anchorage Trappers (from Death Valley): Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
Tough spot here for the Trappers as none of the top players align with their biggest needs. So instead they take one of, if not the, best players available. Between Hamilton, Budda Baker, and Jessie Bates, Anchorage could get very creative with their safeties.

5. Anchorage Trappers: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
This pick is definitely a reach but I had a hard time finding a great fit for Anchorage's needs here. As it stands, EDGE is one of their bigger needs and I know that Counselor loves Hutchinson and has since before he decided to return back to school earlier this year due to injury.

6. Seoul Dragons (from Hungary): Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss
Seoul starting Matt Ryan over Jalen Hurts shows a lack of confidence in Hurts as the long term starter. Additionally, Seoul is going to be moving to a new market next season and will want to make a big splashy play by acquiring a new QB.

7. Camden Hood Rats: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
Who knows what Taylor Lewan's future will be right now. Besides that, both Orlando Brown and Isaiah Wynn are going to be free agents this offseason. Camden will likely be moving on from at least one of them. He finds a replacement in the massive Evan Neal, who can play on either side of the OL.

8. Berlin Blitzkrieg: Malik Willis, QB, Liberty
I don't expect Berlin to stay this low in the draft order so I imagine they'll be in a better range for their needs in the future. For now though, their top needs don't perfectly align with the board so they take a QB of the future. It's fair to say that Rodger's future will likely be questioned every offseason until he finally retires. If Berlin is in a position to grab a potential future starter

9. Antarctica Katabatic Beasts: Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson
Jeff Okudah is out for the year and still hasn't shown much anyways. While he could still pan out, it's not something you can count on at this point. Besides that, Okudah is the only CB Antarctica has beyond this season. They add more to the position here with Booth.

10. Ivory Coast Black Rhinos: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
Not Ivory Coast's biggest need but they're going to need a third WR to add to Terry McLaurin and Chase Claypool. It's going to be a difficult ask to defend against all three of these guys on the field at the same time.

11. Raleigh Firebirds: Kenyon Green, OG, Texas A&M
Raleigh has greatly improved their offense from a season ago but still have a few holes to fill. One in particular is on the interior OL. Landon Dickerson is playing OG for now but is likely a C long term. Green offers versatility as well, playing OT currently for Texas A&M but having played most of his career at OG.

12. Cuba Smugglers: Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
I'm definitely a believer in Derek Carr but he's only on a one year deal for Cuba. Things continue to be murky on Deshaun Watson's future so Cuba might just be looking for a QB of the future here in this upcoming draft.

13. Singapore Sentinels: Spencer Rattler, QB, Oklahoma
Rattler has not looked good this year. He has a ton of natural talent which is pretty much the only reason I've still got him going this high but if he doesn't stop regressing he'll soon be gone from the top 32. For now though, the Sentinels should probably start looking for Brady's heir.

14. Rome Eternals: Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa
Rome has over $10,000 tied up at the center position but I still feel like it's an area that could be improved upon. They grab Linderbaum, the latest in the line of solid and reliable Iowa offensive lineman. He should be plug and play at the next level.

15. Camden Hood Rats (via New Orleans): Christian Harris, LB, Alabama
Camden will likely move on from Jaylon Smith this offseason and Darius Leonard is a FA as well. Harris can step in and replace Smith as least for Camden.

16. Camden Hood Rats (via Lancaster): Jordan Davis, INT, Georgia
Camden has taken some young INT guys in the past couple of drafts but none of them have seemed to be sure fire starters so far. Even if one of them emerges, Davis will make for a great starter next to them.

Round 2
1. Gotham Gashslayers: Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
Gotham simply can't count on Jason Verrett going forward with his injury history. His other starter, Xavier Rhodes, is set to be a free agent as well. Gardner has been playing well so far this season and has worked himself into the CB2 discussion.

2. Seoul Dragons: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
Outside of the recently drafted Rashod Bateman, Seoul doesn't have many young, long-term options at WR. Wilson is a big, athletic target who is still putting it all together but shows a lot of promise.

3. Cancun Kaiju: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
Similar to Seoul with the pick before, Cancun doesn't have many young, long-term options at WR beyond Courtland Sutton and Elijah Moore. Olave could fit into the slot with those two. Olave hasn't looked quite as good this year so far but the whole Ohio State offense looks a little off so not sure how much of that is really on him.

4. Death Valley Nightmare: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
Death Valley has a lot of just ok guys at the CB position but could use a true star at the position. McDuffie is an explosive athlete but also plays pretty physical.

5. Anchorage Trappers: Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
Anchorage has what looks like two good, young starters at CB in Patrick Surtain II and Jaylon Johnson but are looking to trade some of their main depth so they'll need help at the position soon.

6. Hungary Hippos: George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue
EDGE has been a need for the Hippos for quite a few seasons now and maybe this is the year they'll finally find their guy. Karlaftis probably should've gone higher than this but slips and Hungary jumps at the chance to get their guy.

7. Ivory Coast Black Rhinos (from Camden): Brandon Joseph, S, Northwestern
Ivory Coast has a number of safeties entering free agency this year and might not be able to fit them into their 3 up slots. Turning to the draft they find Brandon Joseph.

8. Berlin Blitzkrieg: Brandon Smith, LB, Penn State
Rashaan Evans has disappointed and is an upcoming free agent. Berlin looks to replace Evans with the explosive Brandon Smith.

9. Antarctica Katabatic Beasts: Kingsley Enagbare, EDGE, South Carolina
Anarctica is another team with a big EDGE need. I've got to imagine they'll finally move on and 3 down Frank Clark's $15,600 paycheck. Enagbare is a big edge setter who has a nice set of pass rushing moves.

10. Ivory Coast Black Rhinos: Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M
Ivory Coast is going to lose some contributors this upcoming offseason with only three 3 ups available to them. One they could lose is Nick Chubb, especially with Ezekiel Elliott already commanding a big cap hit. Spiller could be a nice complement to Elliott however.

11. Cancun Kaiju (from Raleigh): Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
Cancun's RB issues have been well documented so far this season so they'll add Hall here, who has potential to be an every down back.

12. Cuba Smugglers: Jalen Wydermyer, TE, Texas A&M
Cuba has needed a TE for many seasons now and could finally pull the trigger here with Wydermyer. I always think it's smart to pair a rookie QB with some help on offense like this.

13. Death Valley Nightmare (from Singapore): Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa
After trading away Austin Jackson, Death Valley is a little lacking in OT depth so they take the huge prospect out of Northern Iowa. This guy just bullies dudes at lower levels of competition.

14. Rome Eternals: Nicholas Petit-Frere, OT, Ohio State
Tyron Smith is getting old and many of the other viable starters Rome has at OT are set to become free agents. Petit-Frere has a lot of upside and could be a starter at RT before sliding to LT when Smith retires.

15. Camden Hood Rats (from New Orleans): Ikem Ekwonu, OG, North Carolina State
Camden has taken a number of mid-to-late round OGs in recent drafts but none have panned out. Here, he looks to take one early and gets a very good one. Ekwonu just bullies dudes and steals their lunch on a regular basis, he's great.

16. Seoul Dragons (from Lancaster): Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State
Seoul takes another WR here to close out the 2nd round. Dotson would be a nice complement to his previous pick Garrett Wilson, as well as Seoul's other options.
