The Saints and Panthers both have 4% chance. 5-6 different things would have to happen for Minnesota to lose the FRB even if they lose out. I think that’s a little misleading. If the Vikings lose out, they probably won’t get the bye. Just one of the Rams, Saints or Panthers would have to win their last 2. If the Vikings just lose 1 it’s a different story. The original post was going off of what happens if we beat Green Bay and lose to Chicago. We were discussing having something to play for in week 17. If we beat Green Bay THEN it would take hard to lose the first round bye. It would take: -MN win vs. GB and loss vs. CHI -New Orleans to lose 1 of two vs. ATL/TB -Atlanta to lose 1 of 2 vs. NO/CAR -LA to lose 1 of 2 vs. TEN/SF -Carolina to win out vs. TB/ATL Carolina is the only one that could take the bye from us as they hold the H2H against us while we hold it over New Orleans, LA, and ATL. VikeManDan
Someone's said it before but I'll say it again. Just. Keep. Winning. No excuse for us to lose to GB or CHI.
swede700
Quote There is something very cool going on in the NFL right now, and nobody is talking about it. Here’s a place to start. In just two weeks the NFL may be kicking off the most competitive and exciting playoffs we’ve seen in years. http://www.profootballweekly.com/2017/12/19/nfl-postseason-just-what-the-doctor-ordered/aekwymq/
Vikes_Bolts1228
Per 538, we now have a 99% chance of a first round bye. Carolina is the lone team to be able to leap-frog us and it'd take A LOT to happen for that to be an issue.

If they win out and the Vikings lose next week, don't they get #2?

Any 3 way tie favors the Vikings. So if either the Saints or the Rams also win out, the Vikings would get the bye.

Last time I looked, it was 5 different things to happen for us to lose the bye. -MN loss vs. CHI -New Orleans to lose 1 of two vs. ATL/TB -Atlanta to lose 1 of 2 vs. NO/CAR -LA to lose 1 of 2 vs. TEN/SF -Carolina to win out vs. TB/ATL
