vike daddy
There has been plenty of speculation about Mike Tomlin’s future in Pittsburgh. Although the Steelers will not fire him — and hope to extend his contract — Tomlin has not yet decided to return. As explained at halftime of Browns-Texans on NBC, Tomlin will be all in until the season ends. Then, he’ll do what he does every year. He’ll reassess his situation and decide what to do. This year, things are unique for him. He has never before entered the final year of a contract. Past extensions were done with two years left. It’s a factor in the analysis. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/mike-tomlin-will-make-a-decision-about-his-future-after-the-season

I think they still have to interview two outside minority candidates before they hire Pierce. All that said, I don't think the Rooney Rule is all that effective, even with new strandards in place. New England didn’t interview anyone before promoting Mayo. Las Vegas wouldn’t either.

vike daddy
According to multiple reports, Harbaugh will meet with the Chargers about their head coaching vacancy on Monday. Reports last week indicated that such a meeting was coming as Harbaugh looks to potentially move back to the NFL after leading his alma mater to a championship. The Chargers have interviewed a number of other candidates for the job, including Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald. Macdonald spent one season working as the Michigan defensive coordinator under Harbaugh. Harbaugh went 44-19-1 in the regular season and 5-3 in the playoffs over four seasons as the 49ers head coach. The 49ers advanced to three straight NFC title games to kick off that run and lost to Harbaugh’s brother John’s Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII. There has also been word of interest in Harbaugh from the Raiders, although no meeting has been scheduled between the two sides at this time. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jim-harbaugh-set-to-meet-with-chargers-monday

SemperFeist
With the increasing number of running QBs, the NFL needs to get rid of the QB slide protection on designed QB runs.

You know that won't happen. (I'm assuming this is in reference to the Josh Allen run) With as many backup QBs we saw this year, they're probably going to double down even further on protecting the QB. vike daddy
The Atlanta Falcons have completed an interview with Bill Belichick for the organization's head coach position, the club announced Monday. The Falcons have completed initial head coach interviews with the following individuals: Baltimore Ravens Defensive Coordinator Mike Macdonald Cincinnati Bengals Offensive Coordinator Brian Callahan San Francisco 49ers Defensive Coordinator Steve Wilks Carolina Panthers Defensive Coordinator Ejiro Evero Baltimore Ravens Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Line Coach Anthony Weaver Former New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick https://www.atlantafalcons.com/news/falcons-announce-completed-interview-with-bill-belichick
SemperFeist
I would be somewhat surprised to see Belichick go to Atlanta. Taking on the task of finding a QB just doesn’t seem like something he’d be excited to do.

There needs to be some language written into the rule that deters QBs from that fake slide movement. It is probably more so a natural movement and not an attempt at a fake but none the less it needs to be discussed by the competition committee. Maybe something like QB is considered down at point of fake slide or movement, similar to the refs discretion of forward movement has been stopped. Or an additional penalty for QBs, maybe something reviewable.

Captain Relax
What's most likely: 1. Bill Belichick goes to Dallas and wins the Super Bowl next season. 2. Belichick goes to Philadelphia, turns around the defense, and with a healthy offense the Eagles make a run at the Super Bowl next season. 3. Belichick goes to Atlanta, brings in Kirk Cousins, helps the young players achieve, and goes deep in the playoffs.
vikesfan89
Or it's a disaster wherever he goes. Not saying it's likely but it's still a possibility
