I don't disagree with that. I wouldn't have done it (and if I did, it certainly wouldn't have been that play call, but I digress). As you said, it's 1%. Most models basically that a toss up. People far too often blame analytics for things it's not responsible for. It's giving you raw data in a vacuum. You still have to add all the other variables on your own. And people tend to act like analytics is basically telling you "this is the 100% right decision" and it's not. It's still risk based analysis. Your own internal risk appetite still matters I wouldn’t have done it either. But like you said, at the end of the day you still have to call the right plays and still have to execute. And you’re more likely to trust the analytics if you have someone like Herbert as your QB.

The national media has been nauseating as well; gushing over them for the majority of the season. Glad we put an end to that nonsense. Delighted with last night, and next week feels like a free hit. The Bengals look like a formidable and quite simply better team, but so were the Colts and the Chargers apparently. The better team lost last night.

Bearerofnews
Every team is happy to see the Raiders on the playoffs over the Chargers. Raiders 1-3 vs Playoff teams in the AFC. Chargers were 3-1.

We lost our head coach, star player, dropped 5/6 games. Our team rallied and found a way to get into the playoffs. The Chargers folded against the Chiefs, Texans, and Raiders, lol. Mediocrity. We're so irrelevant that we opened the season with the most watched game in MNF history in an exciting OT win over the Ravens. Beat the Cowboys on Thanksgiving in the most watched regular season game in NFL history. And closed the season with another huge win on SNF to clinch a playoff berth. Seems like the public loves to watch us clutch these dubs. Edited January 10, 2022 by NYRaider
