NYRaider
Quote Ziegler, 44, has never been a GM or primary personnel decision-maker, but his resume is sound. He was a high school and college assistant coach before joining the Broncos scouting department in 2010. He was hired as the Patriots’ assistant director of pro scouting in 2013 and moved up the ranks over the years to his most recent role, director of player personnel. big_palooka
Some of you have a serious anti-Patriots bias and it shows. This pairing is about collaboration. Stop worrying about who is "in control" and focus on the fact these two are bringing a 10 year marriage to the organization. Our last GM had ZERO front office experience and was a draft analyst on NFL Network. The coach had not coached a game in over a decade and had never worked with the GM in any capacity before pulling him off TV. Ziegler and McDaniels have worked together for 10 years. They clearly trust one another and share a similar vision.

Bob Quinn was hired as GM in 2015. Patricia didn't get hired until 2018. Patricia suffered the same fate as McDaniel in his first job. Alienated players trying to be overbearing. Chased some of their best players, Slay, Ebron, Tulloch. He was a mess. That said, if McDaniel's comes in and starts alienating players, then we can panic. I'm cautiously optimistic he's matured and trust what people smarter than me who are involved with him have said.
agarcia34
I look forward to seeing him talk at his press conference and what his plan and vision are. What I read about him has me very optimistic and thinking this could work very well.

ronjon1990
We never got Tom, so we'll settle for the guy who made his name as Tom's OC (no, not that one, the other one that infamously flopped as a HC before and left another team at the altar, because nobody wanted the other guy because "Tom made him" lol) and the guy who helped run the Patriots drafts the last decade or so, of which most were decidedly underwhelming. Certainly not, but that can be said about any combination. We don't know what they result is until the games are played.
RaidersAreOne
He sure can speak well. I loved the preaching he did about not only growing players but our staff as well. Sounds like a crazy big culture guy. What a breath of fresh air.
