I really hoped for Leal to be a redshirt. I don’t trust tweeners to be full on contributors and I want him to get a solid year of development into his role. I liked that as a (possible) plan when Tuitt was here, and was a bit worried after he retired. Happy that’s back on deck.

I’m sure that was the plan for Loudermilk too last year til injuries undid that plan.

Leal is in-line for a much bigger role next year with Wormley/Ogunjobi/Alualu all FAs and Heyward another year older.

Ohunjobi could also be a sneaky in-season extension candidate if he shows he’s healthy and back to his old self.

How is Ogunjobi vs the run?

If Wormley is starting, gonna be another ugly year for our run D, especially with our ILBs and no good run support box safeties.

A healthy Ogun is a great penetrator.  He gets low, pushes and slips thru.  He's not a "stack the line and wait for help" kinda player.  At least not from what I've watched.  One would hope if he's able to slip thru and not finish, Jack/Bush will be able to clean it up.  I've always been a "fat guy in the middle" clogging it up fan but I'm starting to lean towards the Leal/Ogun type penetrators more and more.  I can't see a world where Wormley gets the nod over a HEALTHY Ogun.

Next season Diontae will be playing for something huge. He’d be dumb to take an extension now. If he puts up a big year, he’ll see what Terry got at least next year. I think the only chance he’s back is if we tag him, and I don’t think that’s super likely. Diontae and Terry are probably seen as similar levels of WR too. I’d be happy to see him put up a monster year then net us a nice comp pick.

I think based on the logic of signing Minkah early (set the market rather than react to the market); DJ would have got the same treatment.

I really think there’s something to the whole thing I tossed out there of needing to see him in this offense.
