Madden 23 Franchise - Seahawks GM

I always enjoy these, but not a fan of the extremely unrealistic trades.    I wish, after all these damn years, EA would figure out how to incorporate more than just overall ratings into trade valuations in Madden.

Anyway, looking forward to this.   Watching people do franchises makes me wanna play....but then I play and reminded why I dont.    :/

Contract Negotiations

DE Poona Ford (79) - Player Interest RED

- No offer.

- I would have given him a reasonable offer but he wants over $10 mil per year which is nuts.

CB Justin Coleman (75) - Player Interest GREEN

- 2 year deal, $2.3 mil salary, $1.5 mil SB, $2.19 Y1 cap hit - ACCEPTED

- He's a solid veteran for depth.  29 years old so probably won't retain after this contract.

WR Marquise Goodwin (74) - Player Interest YELLOW

- No offer.

- He's 31 time to move on.

K Jason Myers (74) - Player Interest YELLOW

- No offer.

- I'm going to see what Kicker options there are in FA.

CB Artie Burns (73) - Player Interest RED

- 2 year deal, $1.9 mil salary, $1.1 mil SB, $1.82 Y1 cap hit - REJECTED

- He rejected this offer so I guess he's heading to FA.

OC Austin Blythe (72) - Player Interest RED

- no offer.

- He's 30 and not very good.

CB Ugo Amadi (72) - Player Interest RED

- 2 year deal, $1.8 mil salary, $900k SB, $1.73 Y1 cap hit - REJECTED

- He wants to go to FA.

FS Marquise Blair (72) - Player Interest RED

- 3 year deal, $2.1 mil salary, $1.1 mil SB, $3.03 Y1 cap hit - ACCEPTED

- I had to overpay a little to retain him, but he's solid depth. He's still only 25.

MLB Cody Barton (73) - Player Interest GREEN

- 3 year deal, $1.7 mil salary, $1.0 mil SB, $2.55 Y1 cap hit - ACCEPTED

- He's 25, solid depth.

HB Kerryon Johnson (70) - Player Interest GREEN

- no offer.

- I can draft a cheaper backup RB.

SS Ryan Neal (69) - Player Interest RED

- 3 year deal, $1.8 mil salary, $600k mil SB, $2.29 Y1 cap hit - ACCEPTED

- He's 26 and relatively cheap depth.

HB Travis Homer (69) - Player Interest YELLOW

- no offer.

- I can draft a cheaper backup RB.

DT LJ Collier (70) - Player Interest RED

- 3 year deal, $1.6 mil salary, $2.2 mil SB, $3.59 Y1 cap hit - ACCEPTED

- This is a little expensive for him but he's solid depth, 26 years old.

ROLB Joel Iyiegbuniwe (69) - Player Interest YELLOW

- 3 year deal, $1.3 mil salary, $900k SB, $2.08 Y1 cap hit - ACCEPTED

- Honestly didn't think he would accept this offer but he did.

QB Drew Lock (67) - Player Interest GREEN

- 3 year deal, $1.7 mil salary, $2.2 mil SB, $3.68 Y1 cap hit - REJECTED

-  Not sure why he turned this down.  I don't see him getting any offers in FA.

RG Phil Haynes (68) - Player Interest RED

- 3 year deal, $1.8 mil salary, $700k SB, $2.38 Y1 cap hit - REJECTED

- Guess he's headed to FA.

MLB Tanner Muse (66) - Player Interest RED

- 2 year deal, $1.3 mil salary, $800k SB, $2.04 Y1 cap hit - REJECTED

- see ya.

MLB Jon Rhattigan (65) - Player Interest GREEN

- 2 year deal, $1.3 mil salary, $800k mil SB, $1.98 Y1 cap hit - ACCEPTED

- He's still only 23 years old.

Here are some ridiculous league wide stats:

- Tom Brady threw for 6,087 yards and 48 TDs.

- There were 6 QBs that threw for over 40 TDs.

- Jonathan Taylor and Josh Jacobs both had over 20 rushing TDs.

- Cooper Kupp had 26 receiving TDs. The next highest receiver had 15.

- Von Miller had 26.5 sacks. Aaron Donald had 23.

- Drew lock put up a bunch of yards but didn't do much else.

- The running game was pretty dead.

- Not sure why Metcalf didn't get more targets.

- On defense RE Nwosu had a decent year with 17 TFL and 10 sacks.  No one else stood out.

- WR Eskridge had a good season as a returner.
