  1. 1. What should the Packers do about their defensive coordinator?

    • Fire MLF, he hired him
    • Fire Joe Barry immediately and get somebody who will play aggressive defense
    • MLF should lay down the law with Barry to stop playing not to lose, get aggressive
    • Ride it out and see what happens this season then make a decision
    • Joe Barry is great

Damn, now I am defending Joe ******** Barry.

But trying to paint how the defense performed vs KC in a negative light is just stupid to me.

I'm right there in the trenches with you and I started this thread. LOL

I think we all have a blind spot to objectivity on certain subjects.

If our offense wasn’t incredible, and didn’t score or have the ball as much as they did, do you still think we would’ve held them under 20 points? What if they had 3-4 more possessions?

If a meteor had struck Lambeau Field last night...

Past two week's I've seen a lot of progression

Gave up several 3rd and long situations and literally had to call TO to get his personnel right. What progression have we seen other than the pass rush getting hope lately? He still can't get his personnel lined up correctly (in year 3), still left Travis ******* Kelce wide open on a consistent basis and still couldn't get off the field for the majority of the game.

If our offense wasn't clicking last night, we don't hold them to 19 points. My man did his job like duct tape on an airplane wing.

They held because things broke right, not because they performed glowingly.

Nobody performs glowingly against the Chiefs unless Mahomes is just off. The other guys get paid too. The other guys are defending Super Bowl Champions.

I have a ton of respect for you as a poster. You are so vested in Barry's demise you aren't looking at this with any objectivity.

Nobody had as much distain for our DC as me. I just refuse to be blinded by it.

lol incredible

I don't give two ****s about Joe Barry the person. Watch the game as a whole and tell me that was a good defensive performance. Don't cherry pick stats or tell me "IT WAS DAH CHIEFFFFFFFFFFFFFS" as your argument when they've been held to 21 or less 7 times this year. Collectively, they got their **** pushed in for 90% of the night.

Have a good day! Context matters. Check out the team stats. Chiefs are 8th in the league in PPG at just under 22.9 points a game.

You don’t understand that sometimes the end results don’t tell the whole story. Let me give you an example and maybe you can.

If you go to the casino and put all your money on 00 on roulette and by some chance you win, you didn’t make a smart decision. It just broke your way. If you did it again, you’re extremely likely to lose.

If you play last night over and KC gets a regular number of possessions, they’re almost assuredly scoring more points . The defense wasn’t stopping KC, KC wasn’t on the field enough to have those numbers .

And they've been held to 21 and under 7 times, like I said, which is more than half their games. It's not a major accomplishment. I'm sure glad you're proud of that performance though. I, for one, don't settle for mid *** defense though.

I understand that we disagree on this subject, which is fine.

The fact is this...both sides are right at this point in time.

Barry did well this past game.  And yet we can do better than him as a DC.  And we should.

And this one really hurts... @Packerraymond had the best post on here.  Joe Barry will be gone when his defense gets shredded to end our season.

Except if that result happens game after game after game l, then it ain't blind luck.

Barry track record over the last 16 games proves that.

If you break down any game it is all about situational outcomes. If Love doesn't convert that hail mary 4th and 2 play, it is a different game. All these things come down to certain moments and most are out of a coordinators hand.

Do the players want to play for him? Yup! Can he coach up a bunch of JAGs? Yup!

Probably the end of 2024 or 2025
