The squib forces the return, instead of the touchback, which takes time, and also keeps it away from the primary returner, giving it instead to a blocker (in this case, Michael Burton) who isn't going to be able to gain much yardage out of it. I love these Bills/Chiefs games, because it really just feels like both fanbases are having to finally deal with what everyone else deals with when they play them.
