Flint:

OFFENSE:

We believe our defense can basically win this one for us. So we aren't getting too cute on offense. We will minimize penalties and stay ahead of the chains.

Today will be a noticeably balanced offense, about 50-50 run to pass. Our starting QB is a bit dinged up but feels ready to go. That said, we've also balanced the offense to make it more backup friendly if our man Cousins is forced into action. Capable in his own right, he's not the rushing threat our main guy Allen is. We will go a bit run heavy early in the game to set up some play action later. We will also split our formations today with a heavy dose of both 11 and 12 personnel. We have developed a nice set of plays this week out of the 2TE Wing formation. Stretch runs, intermediate-deep TE crossover pass plays attacking CB/S responsibilities, counter-runs, some play-action TE leak plays, and maybe a screen or two in behind that. We can also flex the outside TE out wide, and have him crack back on an HB toss play. Or bring the wide TE into the backfield as an H-back to help hit some double team blocks on inside runs as we know their interior is physical. Possibly hit him in the flat at some point on a 3rd & short out of play-action. We will make it a dynamic formation this week.

Out of 11 personnel, we will run a very balanced array of plays. Some power runs with a pulling G or outside zone runs. We will build in some screens, reverses, and play-action off of the early outside runs. That will help either Allen or Cousins, no matter who takes the handoff. Flood looks, short crossers using pre-snap motion to tip the defense with a curl or safety valve built in behind it, reverses, and of course a well disguised screen or two. We will make a point of rarely throwing at Darius Slay. We respect the man.

We will use Kamara the most, then Foreman, then Singletary this week. Foreman has looked good in practice and we will try to sneak him in for a bigger percentage of the power runs.

DEFENSE:

Today we will run a base 4-2-5 with some 5-2 looks on early downs. We know they will have to rely heavily on their RB's for production today. So we will stay heavier toward the line of scrimmage, and we will never take our eyes off Christian McCaffrey.

If we are in 5-2 formation and they flex the RB's out wide we will have the ability to drop Clowney or Bosa into coverage. Or we can bring all 5 and maybe an extra rusher to bring the heat. We will always keep our eyes on CMC, but we will also approach our DL rush today a bit conservatively to honor what Kyler can add to the offense with his legs, as well as prepare heavily for some RPO looks. Our defenders will play this one very gap-sound. LB's and Safeties can make reads and clean up behind them.

We're expecting a heavy dose of CMC and Kyler trying to get out in space and force our Edge guys to make reads and our back 7 to tackle in space. So we might split our man and zone looks pretty evenly today while constantly keying on CMC.

We will ask our LBs to honor Tonyan underneath and protect against screens and QB runs. Our top 2 CB's will be tasked with handling the ghost of Robert Woods and whomever they trot out as a #2 WR today. The safeties will be a last line of defense and help squash out screens and QB runs while the gains are minimal. I would be surprised if this group can manage any more than 10 points against us this week.

Week 10

OFFENSIVE GAME PLAN

Triple Option:

One time in 6th grade my teacher gave us a test where every answer was B and half of the class failed because none of us could possibly believe that the answer was B yet again. This is my offensive game plan. They will never believe that it will be a run play yet again. Flint will always be expecting the pass again, but it will never come. We will like up 3 RB’s in the backfield and Kyler Murray and run multiple options every single play. Read options, pitches, reverses, double reverses, inside gives, outside gives, we will make our running game a constant force and wear Flint down and hit them with big gash plays in the run. Our O-line is built to dominate in the run game and we will. We’ll be playing rock, paper, scissors and always throw rock because they just won’t see it coming, again. Just run always run……….Because the forward pass is for chumps.

DEFENSIVE GAME PLAN

Attacking 5-2

Flint won’t have Josh Allen for this game and even though their strength will be the running game, they won’t have the courage to run the triple option and run it literally every play. I will rotate my defensive line and attack their backup QB and subpar right side of the line. Slay will be matched up all game with the greatest threat in their passing game George Kittle and Peters will lock up DJ Moore.  Mike Edwards will be on Kamara or Gibson, whoever they decide to send out in the pass game. The rest of my defense will be dedicated to attacking the line of scrimmage, creating pressure and swallowing up the run game. I predict 12 sacks in this game.

Flint takes this one. Jimmy G running the triple is a tough sell, but if I would have had unbalanced formations and the knowledge of whether or not this was a classic Navy Flexbone, spread triple, or unbalanced attack would have been fun and creative. I need ACE OVER, 3 OT, etc.

The lack of respect of the deadly Jimmy G led triple option is astounding. Did you not all see that brilliant rushing TD he had on Sunday?

Raleigh by a million

personally, i think you should have just put Jarvis Landry at QB, he has some NFL passing td's
