Not at all.  They should just roll over because Saleh and LaFleur are great buddies.  It is the nice thing to do amongst friends.

So when Shanahan tampered with Rodgers a few years ago, the Packers should have rolled over there then?  The Packers are going to do what's best for the Packers.

This.  The notion that the Rodgers' trade is hampering the Jets' FA plans is mind boggling.

It might be hampering our ability to attract guys though. We had offers out there for SF C, O. Brown and Cox and they all returned to their teams. But we are still trying to spend money. We still have A LOT of wiggle room with contracts. Serve real guys we can cut and restructure.

No sense of humor, I see.

Jason Peters, Tyron Smith are future HOF LTs. What do you think they’d go for? Nothing they’re FAs bc their teams can realize they’re not worth draft picks never mind a haul if a package.

You GB fans act like you’re trading a 34yr old star QB. Derek Carr who was 35 was offered a 3rd that LV would agree to. Let that sink in. 4 years younger and guaranteed to play for 4 years or so that is still a top 15 QB couldn’t even go for a 3rd. ARs last season wasn’t elite at all let’s keep in mind too. That’s not even bringing in all the dead cap that goes with him and likely only getting him for a year.

If Rodgers was 34 he would be our starting QB this year instead of yours.  lol

But you can't blame our GM for trying to get as much compensation for him as he can.  Any GM worth his salt would be doing the same thing.

You can't compare this situation with Carr.  He had a no trade clause in his contract with LV and was able to get out of Dodge and become a FA.  Rodgers doesn't have that luxury.

There's a very small (<1%) chance that the Packers decide the return is so mediocre that they tell him to collect his paycheck and sit at home.  Like Andrew Brandt (former Packers' FO personnel) said, it won't get to that.  But the Jets' "deadline" is before Green Bay's.

Why?  GB wants 2023 picks, their deadline is the draft if they're smart.

Absolutely he should be trying to get the best he can. But generally speaking when a player is getting traded there’s multiple teams involved. So there’s a price and teams have to beat each other out. There’s just us and you guys are done with him. There’s 1 option for you guys. Your only card is we’ll make you wait.

Green Bay prefers 2023 picks.  They'll settle for 2024 picks IMO.  If you're the GM of the Green Bay Packers, and the Jets offer you their 3rd round pick this year (#74) or their FRP next year, which do you take?

Why are you completely ignoring the fact that there's only 1 option for the Jets?  It's literally only Rodgers.

He’s our only option that is a significant upgrade.

Us starting Wilson is 100% an option. Us trading for Tannehill for a 7th rounder can be an option. Trading for cousins or staffird for a fraction of the AR price, sign a vet FA still, etc.

We have options.

Your option of not trading AR is paying him and playing him. Which you guys 100% don’t want to do.

So yes we have countless options. While you have 1.

THe Jets could have signed Carr, he wanted to come here. Rodgers was their #1 option. They could always figure out other options.

Obviously the Jets can sit here and just wait cause the Packers are going to trade him to us regardless, I would call their bluff. Let them make it ugly. Go ahead, treat your star like trash.

Giving up first round picks, specifically the 13th pick this year when we have significant holes, to get a player for maybe 1 year is such a dumb move by the Jets if they do that.

The Jets could go to Lamar, the draft, trade for a guy like Tannehill. Literally.

Even signing a QB off the heap likely outperforms Zach Wilson’s numbers last year.  The FO is safe, Woody Johnson is in charge of this pursuit. The fans know the Jets tried. A back out could definitely happen.

I'd 100% would rather give up 2 firsts for Lamar than give up 1 first for Rodgers.
