2023 Draft Prospects (Google Sheets) - New 2024 QB Worksheet

UPDATE

Sheet27 is now the updated RB sheet. It's kind of fuzzy as I'm having some issues with Excel. I'll add a better version when I can. For now, you can zoom in to get a cleaner view.

It keeps pasting as an image for some reason. Excel has been a bit funky lately so it could be the issue. Sheet 29 is raw numbers without the above average colouring.

Wouldn't a better metric be CTT/TGT? That'd be a better indicator of how many catches this player is making as a Contested Catch vs how many times they're targeted by the QB. I have zero issues if a guy is catching 72% of his contested catches. If he's in Contested Catches 72% of the time he's targeted, then he's probably not getting separation.

Yeah I’d want both like you said. Percentage of contested balls caught and percentage of targets contested. Lot of more variables in separation at time of arrival as opposed to a contested catch which is a little more cut and dry.

I MIGHT have that in my worksheet? If I don't, that'd be super easy to do because I already have CTT and CTT %.

Checked: I don't have it but it's super easy to do as I already have # of CTT and # of targets. So we'll do that up soon.

RB is interesting. By all accounts this is a really deep RB class. I can definitely see Holmes adding a guy in the mid/late rounds, especially if Jamaal goes someplace else (though in that case, I think they would also add a veteran).

For sure.  The combine will be big for a lot of these guys since there seems to be a lot of really solid RBs.

@bigc421 ^^^^

I made it yellow because I don't know how I feel about a guy really being a Contested Catch specialist, especially if he's really good at it. A guy that has a ton of contested catches and isn't great at it does raise questions. I can see a short list that does bring concern.

Anyone like or have any inside info on Caleb Murphy, Edge, Ferris St.? I didn't see him on the spread sheet unless I overlooked him.

His numbers were obviously insane last year, but there are always questions when its against lesser competition.

25.5 Sacks - NCAA Record

39 TFL - Tied NCAA Record

First ever Non FBS player to win the Ted Hendricks award

Two straight division 2 championships

From the info I can find it seems like he relied on sheer power and acceleration to overpower OL, has a high motor, but he is raw and has short arms. I've seen people project him to go anywhere from 5th round to undrafted, but he was invited to the combine so that will likely change.

Personally I wouldn't mind the Lions taking a flyer on him with a 6th or a 7th if they make a trade.

I don't have him in there. I haven't really looked at the combine and added extra names from there. I tend to throw the combine into my database to compare those performances vs past 12+ years.

PFF doesn't have him at all. For whatever reason, they don't have Ferris State in their database for D2.
