onejayhawk
When it comes to the 53-man roster, there is always the possibility that someone will open the season PUP. Frequently it is necessary. Sometimes it is fudged to keep a player off of waivers. Based on OTAs and media availability, three players may not be ready for the opening night game--Tershawn "Turk" Wharton, L'Jarius Sneed, and Isiah Pacheco. All three of these players figure to have prominent roles but should not be counted on against the Lions on 7 September.https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-training-camp-pup-list-possibilities-tershawn-wharton-isiah-pacheco-ljarius-sneed/
Chiefs_5627
I'm more than ok with Nuk heading to Tennessee for that price and the fact now we can keep an extra young WR we have.

Agreed. Hopkins could help short term but the financial side was always shakey.

Both to one degree or another. This Ross is the one taken before Pat Mahomes in 2017. Justyn Ross was Trevor Lawrence's favorite WR when he was a freshman and then got hurt. He's the one who makes one-handed catches and acts like that's normal.
EMAW_KSU
It’s just too bad for John Ross the person that he couldn’t stay healthy. Tons of potential. If this is what it takes for us to hopefully get Justyn Ross on the field and see what he can do that’s exciting too.

If Justyn Ross keeps snatching difficult throws out of the air, they will make a place for him. It's already clear that JR learned a lot by being in the meetings during his recovery. During the off-season, Mahomes had him out to the house for some quality work. It's hard to gauge how valuable that is but we know that Justin Watson benefited last year. While on the subject of WR. it's worth noting that Richie James seems to be emerging as a likely KO returner. James is a veteran who played in a similar offense with the Giants. He has a solid shot to make the team. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2023/07/28/kansas-city-chiefs-richie-james-emerging-top-kick-returner-training-camp-practice/ Edited July 29, 2023 by onejayhawk
EMAW_KSU
I like James as the kick returner for multiple reasons. One, he’s good at it, 2 it keeps Toney away from it. Not that I don’t like the spark Toney can bring in the return game, but less hits is better for him.

James could also do punt returns but this article did not cover that position.

Wanya Morris is probably a lock to make the team but he is not emerging as the swing OT. Malik Herring over Joshua Kaindoh. Richie James and Deneric Prince are listed as PR and KR, most likely ensuring each a spot on the 53.
