Some of the older guys possibly were as well (Marino, Graham, Montana - though Montana may be another case of success vs ability, I haven't watched enough of him to know for sure). and by that logic, jawalrus russell and mike vick are the best QBs of all time. bzane
Are write-in votes allowed? I consulted Brutal, that master historian, and he made an emphatic choice: sexy nickname, and ran a 9.7 100-yd dash in 1923~~~~!

Brady's fingers wouldn't have near the same amount of jewelry without the greatest HC in NFL history. 13 minutes ago, Pats#1 said: Ah yes....the magical "system" that no one else can seem to replicate Huh? Montana has less without Walsh and the WCO Manning has less without Polian or Elway stacking his teams Graham has less without Brown Starr has less without Lombardi Bradshaw has less without Noll Eli has less without Coughlin coaching that defense Rodgers probably has none if McCarthy wasn't a QB guru who changed his play style Same argument

Pats#1
2 hours ago, Carmen Cygni said: Huh? You said without Belichick, Brady is just another good QB....it's a ridiculous statement. Would he have as many rings, probably not....would he only be considered "another good QB", absolutely not. The guy is at/near the top for almost every passing statistic. To brush of his current ranking of the greatest of all time, to simply, "another good QB", is you suggesting that rings are the only thing that propels Brady to the pedestal that he is sitting on now, which again, is wrong. So please explain how without Belichick, Tom Brady would be considered, "just another good QB", like many before him.

Passing is easier today than even ten years ago, and and it was even more difficult for the elite QBs of the 80s. Joe Montana was just better, without the SB losses, and I can't imagine him losing SB 42. Brady is a top five QB, but his numbers wouldn't have been as impressive under 1980s rules. I love how losing in the NFCCG is better than losing in the Super Bowl. Joe Montana was the GOAT up until Brady put together back to back legendary SB performances. The bolded is a completely baseless assumption with no evidence to back it up whatsoever.
