This defense, on paper, is far less talented than it was last year, and it's not like last year's defense was the '86 Bears. Additionally, the Vikings defensive payroll is 18th in the league (28.88%). The only premier defender is Hunter. Our down linemen are unremarkable. Our big defensive free agent (Davenport) hasn't even played two full games. Speaking of Davenport, what kind of ankle sprain is he dealing with? It seems like he has been out for quite a long time by ankle sprain standards. It would be nice if Flores is given a chance to get a bit more out of that $13M investment. Davenport looked good in the limited action he has had. It would be nice if the team could get him back for the playoff push. I assume he'll need some weeks to get into game shape. Opening the 21-day window how only gives Davenport one game before playoffs. Flores is doing far more with less.
