I would say give it till the trade deadline. Let Brad cook.

Brad Holmes has been pretty smart with how he as built this roster.  He isn't going to make a move just for the sake of making a move and he would right to take that approach.  Mecole Hardman hasn't exactly been a world-beater.  I hate to float conspiracy theories but they maybe they are show-casing Julian Okwara so that they have an extra barging chip for a trade.

This isn't a trade but the Patriots just released rookie CB Ameer speed.  List height weight:  6'3", 210 Lbs.  He also reported runs a sub 4.4 forty.  He also happens to be a former MSU player.  Clearly he would be a project but he has tremendous physical tools.  It seems like he would be worth the risk.

Detroit doesn't need l projects. If he wasn't good enough for their junk roster I doubt he has any value for a contender

A team can never have enough talent at CB/DB.  A CB who measures in at 6"3, 210 Lbs with 32.5" arm-length and runs a sub-4.4 forty is the type CB we do not have.  Even if he ends up as a back-up or special-teamer, those attributes are worth the risk now that he has been released.  Don't be so quick to dismiss the players on that roster.  They are only a year removed from having a truly dominant defense.  Bill Belichick will have a great legacy but the wheels are coming off the train in New England right now.  He has been known to make some not-great decisions with his personnel.

Guys specifically mentioned were Donte Jackson, Jeremy Chinn, Terrace Marshall, and Brian Burns.

Wonder what we could send for Burns. Maybe through Chark in there? He looked honesick after the Lions game. 😂

Jeremy Chinn would be a really interesting player even though his is more of a safety.  He had a promising start to his career but apparently the new scheme isn't great for him.  Terrace Marshall has got some tools and given the QB play on that team since he was drafted that he might still have some untapped potential.

One other thing about a player like that:  Maybe he isn't a great CB prospect but he does have the size/frame so convert to LB.  Or he can switch to safety.  Heck, those tools could make him a special teams demon.

He was absolutely horrid last year at Michigan State.  Some people are athletic but not good at football.
