It sucks, but typically when you have a great defense then coaches teach the QB on third and long to not force a throw to the sticks of it's covered just because you need to hit the sticks or punt..that with a good defense, throwing short and hoping they can make a play,coming up short, then punting and relying on your defense is better than risking a tough throw on third and long. Let your good D give you another chance If you've ever watched Brady in that 2001 to 2017-ish era(and I'm sure you have), it's what he basically did everytime. Every single game he is limping off at some point or in the blue tent. By midway point that explosiveness slows a bit more, a bit more, a bit more...if they want him to last, he needs to play LINEBACKER like he was drafted and come in on pass rush downs as a.blitzer not as a true down lineman.
