If they can get Kuzma or Jerami Grant, they can win a couple playoff series again. Nothing they do will make them title contenders without some injury luck, but they can be at least a decent team. Maybe the G-League isn't a good alternative to college? Kuminga, Green, Thompson twins, Daniels, and Scoot are/were way behind their peers who follow the traditional path.
