Not a big Fitzpatrick fan. He has talent but there are simply guys I like better at other positions. I think he's a FS at the next level and I dont see safety as a pressing need so if we draft him that means they see him as a CB and I'm not so sure about how that turns out.

Maiocco had an interesting write up on what the 49ers will look for in a CB.  Josh Jackson was considered the better fit where they currently stand.

If we go CB, I'm firmly in the Josh Jackson camp. Though I have questions about his speed to be a great man coverage defender, his awareness and instincts in off-man/zone are precisely what you need from CBs in this scheme.

Two of my favorites. Moore is really underrated

I saw someone mocking Jones to us in the third.  That's crazy. But if he did happen to drop - like to our second round pick I'd run to the podium with his name on our card.

Always an interesting question.  Jackson and the guy from Colorado are both bigger guys who can maybe match up better against bigger WRs.  But I think Ward's skills are just better than the other CBs in the draft and despite his size I think he's going to turn out to be the best CB in this class.

I like Oliver more than Jackson. Not that I hate Jackson or anything, but Oliver is a better bump n run corner. Besides, it would be kind of cool to see him reunite with another fellow Buffalo in Witherspoon.

IMO Jackson is more a fit to this scheme. Oliver is better in press man but doesnt posses the instincts and spacial awareness Jackson has in zone and off-man to be a ball-hawking CB. The Combine will be interesting for both guys, as i think they both need to time well and look especially fluid in drills.

Erick Crocker does pretty good break downs on corners. He's of the opinion Oliver is the best corner in this class. Says Josh Jackson has some pretty bad habits and issues when playing press and man coverage, but has incredible ball skills as an off zone corner. Likes both, but he's super hard in the Oliver camp. He's sort of grown on me too, I also believe when you start seeing multiple guys come from a school and excel at the NFL level, that they're being coached correctly or something.

Link? Not familiar with Crocker.
