I prefer both to just about any Rodgers backup. Give them a OL1 they’d both be watchable. Ive never seen a team play 2s v 1s across the board and not be overmatched. Like the reason for that game is obvious: Sean Payton is someone you should never do business with. We got very little out of that while they got primed for the regular season. 2s v 1s was dumb. JV never got anything out of being destroyed by varsity. The tape is so sloppy from a cohesion standpoint that you can throw it all away.

That was a MLF decision, that is not on Sean Payton. The results of the whole Denver trip are on MLF and MLF alone.

I mean, Payton and LaFleur want different things out of this game.  Payton has a shiny new first round QB who they wanted to see if he's ready to take the reigns, so obviously you wanted to play that guy with the rest of the 1s and there's no reason to to asymmetrical between the Offense and the Defense there.

Meanwhile the Packers are returning 9 starters on offense, and 8 on defense, and are filling 2 of those holes with high priced free agents, and the other gaps are likely filled with premium draft picks.  The majority of what LaFleur wanted out of the game was to give his backups reps to see if someone separates from the pack.

There is nothing fine about QB2 and QB3. Neither should be on a NFL during a game that matters. I can give Pratt a pass because he’s a rookie. Need an upgrade at back up QB.

This is Green Bay's m.o. at QB- draft and develop.  We're not signing a vet.

But that doesn't jive for those that always need to be in a panic about something.

I think the question is more 'Is it worth developing Clifford who has limited upside"?  And if you answer that in the negative, you probably want someone who can get you out of a game.

But the Packers have not really invested much in backup QBs specifically because we've had a few guys who didn't miss many games in a row.  So the plan is to hope that Love plays in every game and the backup only shows up for mop-up duty.  But that's kind of like "the plan is to hope a tornado doesn't hit the house".

Well its not a bad plan until its proven you live in tornado alley.

Were the colts really better off having Minshew win them just enough games to miss the playoffs? Or was it better to have painter/orlovsky lead them to the 1st pick? Foles is such an outlier.. just ride these rookie QBs until their contracts run out or someone offers a pick for one.

What makes you worried about CB depth? We haven't even played our top 4 guys.

Maybe that's part of it.

I have zero faith in Stokes. Nixon is a bottom third slot. Jaire is a little bit glass. Valentine could be a player.

Just feels like it could be a liability.

Or it could be a really good room.

Tough read right now

I couldn't care less about the backup QB position or situation

Every second spent thinking about it as fans is wasted time

I would much rather panic over Newman as OL8

Per JSO

Packers first-round pick Jordan Morgan is taking part in team offensive line drills. However, he’s not the starter. Sean Rhyan is.Morgan is on the other side of the field working with the No. 2s and 3s.

Rookie Jacob Monk is sharing the first-team snaps with Rhyan at right guard.

Would REALLY like to see Glover at guard. After getting through the rest hes having real trouble with speed around the edge but his got a little nasty to his game. Think he could start settling in inside. Or maybe we put on tape that he struggles real bad this year store him on PS and move him next year

Glover didn’t look great but he was hustling. He was the one who got up field and quickly went to the ground on that fumble recovery. Just one play but showed some of his tenacious play. Who knows what we’ve got there but that play alone earned him a few more snaps in this third preseason game.

Every rush he failed was just straight speed to dip and rip. He looked pretty good run blocking and can handle bull rush.. just think its natural to send him inside.
