e16bball
Will try to take my best stab at a 53-man roster. It’s trickier than in years past because I’m expecting a defensive deployment that doesn’t really fit the typical positional breakdowns. Offense (24): QB: Jayden Daniels | Marcus Mariota RB: Brian Robinson | Austin Ekeler | Chris Rodriguez WR: Terry McLaurin | Dyami Brown WR: Jahan Dotson | Jamison Crowder WR: Olamide Zaccheus | Luke McCaffrey TE: Zach Ertz | Ben Sinnott | Cole Turner LT: Cornelius Lucas | Brandon Coleman LG: Nick Allegretti | Chris Paul OC: Tyler Biadasz | Ricky Stromberg RG: Sam Cosmi | Michael Deiter RT: Andrew Wylie | Trent Scott Defense (26): DE: Dante Fowler | KJ Henry | Javontae Jean-Baptiste DT: Jonathan Allen | Jer’Zhan Newton | Efe Obada DT: Da’Ron Payne | John Ridgeway DE: Dorance Armstrong | Clelin Ferrell LB: Frankie Luvu | Jamin Davis LB: Bobby Wagner | Jordan Magee | Anthony Pittman CB: Benjamin St. Juste | Michael Davis S: Quan Martin | Percy Butler | Jeremy Reaves S: Darrick Forrest | Jeremy Chinn | Dominique Hampton CB: Emmanuel Forbes | Noah Igbinoghene Nickel: Mike Sainristil Special Teams (3): K: Brandon McManus P: Tress Way LS: Tyler Ott
turtle28
It will be interesting to see who makes it as our 3rd TE, we may keep 4 & then Bates & Turner make it. Bates is a good special teams player so if we don't keep him it means that Sinnott will have to be as good at special teams. I think there's a chance that Sam Hartman makes it as a 3rd QB. On D I think Ferrell starts over Fowler. Ferrell started on San Fran’s D last year opposite Bosa but, it certainly could go the other way. I don't exactly know what our D scheme is going to look like yet. I don't know if they're going to start w/ a base of 3 traditional LBs, if that's the case Jamin starts at WLB. Or, if they start with a Buffalo Nickel where Chinn will be playing Buffalo Nickel/WLB. Or if it's how you have it where Sainristil starts at slot CB as you have it. It's all an enigma to me right now. I lean towards Jamin starting at WLB but not being an every-down LB. I think Sainristil will play more snaps as the slot CB. They may use Jamin as a pass rusher more than JDR did but again it's all an enigma to me now what his role will be and how exactly they're in a buffalo nickel D or a true nickel D. 🤷🏼♂️
BigTimeRedskins
My guesses, assuming no further FA signings: Offense (25) QB - Daniels/Mariota/Hartman RB - Robinson/Ekeler/Rodriguez WR - McLaurin/Dotson/Brown/McCaffrey/Zaccheaus/Crowder TE - Ertz/Sinnott/Turner/Bates LT - Lucas/Coleman LG - Allegretti/Paul C - Biadasz/Stromberg RG - Cosmi/Deiter RT - Wylie Defense (25) DE - Fowler/Henry DT1 - Allen/Newton/Ridgeway DT2 - Payne/Mathis DE - Armstrong/Ferrell/JJB OLB - Luvu/Pittman MLB - Wagner/Magee OLB - J. Davis/Chinn CB1 - Forbes/M. Davis CB2 - BSJ/Martin CB3 - Sainristil FS - Forrest/Butler SS - Reaves/Hampton STers K - McManus P - Way LS - Ott

I think we will carry 4 TEs, most teams without a FB do. Bates makes sense as the 4th TE and honestly I’d have him on the depth chart higher than Turner. I don’t see how we would just dump Braeden Daniels after he was a 4th rounder last year. I know it’s a different regime but he was regarded as a solid prospect in last years class. I would dump Dieter for him but I can see it being Paul that gets cut. I also am not sure we’re done at Tackle yet, a vet could easily take Trent Scott’s spot. I would rather see if this staff could get anything out of Mathis rather than keep Obada but I get it. Pretty impressive how much they’ve turned over the linebacker position in one offseason. I think Michael Davis starts over BSJ. I think Chinn starts over Forrest. 6 safeties feels like a lot and you need to drop someone on defense to add a 4th TE. Could be Reaves if he didn’t heal from his injury. Or maybe the rookie heads to the PS.
naptownskinsfan
There is no way they guaranteed Hartman nearly 300k, and he won’t make the roster over Jake Fromm. Don’t see it being a possibility.

MikeT14
Thanks for this @e16bball. My pushbacks/thoughts: 1) We need to go sign Tyler Boyd to a 1 year deal. 2) I think Bates makes it over Turner. Turner just hasn't developed. 3) I think Clelin Ferrell is a starter mostly because of rushing downs. Fowler comes in on obvious passing ones. 4) Chinn starts imo. 5) Michael Davis starts. Noah doesn't make it.
Slappy Mc
I'll give this a stab as well. One difference I will propose is we will see more of a hybrid defense from Whitt. So here goes: Offense (25): QB: Daniels, Hartmann, (Mariota techincally QB2) RB: Robinson, Ekeler, McNichols FB: N/A TE: Ertz, Sinnott, Bates WR1: McLaurin, Brown WR2: Dotson, Crowder, Tinsley Slot: Zaccheaus, McCaffree LT: Lucas, Coleman LG: Allegretti, Stromberg C : Biadasz, Dieter RG: Cosmi RT: Wylie, Daniels Defense (25): 3-4: LDE: Allen, Ridgeway NT: Payne, Mathis RDE: Newton LOLB: Armstrong, Henry, Baptise ILB: Wagner, Magee ILB: Luvu, Davis ROLB: Ferrell, Fowler Jr. CB: BSJ, James Jr. CB: Davis, Forbes Slot: Sainristil FS: Martin, Butler, Hampton SS: Forrest, Chinn, Reaves 4-3: LDE: Armstrong, Henry, Baptise DT: Allen, Newton DT: Payne, Ridgeway, Mathis DE: Ferrell, Fowler Jr. LB: Wagner, McGee LB: Luvu, Davis CB: BSJ, James Jr. CB: Davis, Forbes Slot: Sainristil FS: Martin, Butler, Hampton SS: Forrest, Chinn, Reaves ST (3): P: Way K: McManus LS: Ott Edited April 29 by Slappy Mc

I don't see Dieter getting cut, he was the Texans' starting C last year for the final 10 games. He's also played guard in his career too at Miami so he has... Position Flex 💪 😂 I kid, I kid. But, I do see him on our roster as the backup C or backup RG, it just depends on what they want to do with Stromberg. If they see Stromberg as more of a C then, I think Dieter is a backup G, who may even push Allegretti to be our starting LG.

Maybe he plays great for us but I see no evidence of why that will actually happen? At this point I think we have our RG and Center positions locked down and I don't even think Biadasz is all that good. Does anyone actually believe we would've targeted Biadasz if Dan Quinn wasn't hired? I just simply cannot believe we're going to put a rookie QB behind this line and the FO and coaching staff are okay with it? You had 3 picks in the second round and not one goes to an OL lol. I think between Allegretti, Dieter & Stromberg we will find a good starting LG. Dieter has been a starter in the league in Miami at C & G & he started 10 games last year at C for the Texans who had one of the best OL’s in the NFL. Then, we are both huge Stromberg fans. Out of those 3 I think we find at least one good LG, maybe even 2. I’ll give you that OT is still a question mark. I would've taken an OT in R2 also but if they had a similar grade on Coleman then they did on some of the late 2nd rnd OTs & a higher grade on Newton, Saintistill, Sinnott, it's hard to fault them for taking the BPA’s. I think Newton & Sainristill will have huge impacts immediately on our D & Sinnott could should Ertz have injury issues.
