Myles, Chubb, Bitonio, Joe Thomas, Ward, JOK by the day…. We’ve all seen plenty of talent succeed here. Are you being purposefully obtuse or did you just forget about like 3 years of football? 7 minutes ago, roger murdock said: Whats the point of being a fan real talent can't do anything. 7 minutes ago, roger murdock said: We are a retirement home for grifters to take advantage of our idiot owner. Kiwibrown
I doubt we have this version of mayfield here. We screen dhis development by having Hue-greggg-kitchens as his coaches to start his career. We gave him organizational power after year 1 by going with kitchens who isn't a good oc or head coach. He was a good play caller

I legitimately think Stefanski is going to keep running him out there to prove a point to Front Office and ownership and try to win the long term war or else show the league that he is head coach material somewhere else as almost an interview for the future.

Quarterback is more contextual and needs other pieces to succeed. The only individually good players we've had since the return have been guys like Thomas, Bitonio, Garrett, Ward, Haden, who play 1:1 and don't rely so much of the rest of the team structure to succeed. Mayfield is proving he's amazing. We gave him Hue Jackson off 1-31, fired mid-season Freddie Kitchens - there is no way this man impressed anyone in an interview. He'd get winded walking 50 yards, and sounded like a simpleton. He never had any power or responsibility in his entire career. How in the hell did this man get hired? Hes the TE coach for the team sitting 14th in the ACC right now... Stefanski was a great hire and Baker thrived Then we played Baker all season when he was clearly injured and defecitive We had an amazing talent for 4 seasons. He had 4 head coaches. Three of the seasons (1,2,4) he was put in an *AWFUL* situation. Then we traded him right before the season started to the second worst run organization in the league. This man has overcome more incompetence than anyone. Now that he's finally in an OK situation hes doing amazing. He always had the ability, its just he's been actively sabotaged his entire career.

Not so much sabotaged but adjacent to incompetence. He wasn't good in his last year here. Some of it was on him.

Maybe the injury was messing with him mentally, who knows? Happy for Baker, though. He certainly was/is easier to root for than Leroy/leshaun/dushbag.

pf9
The trade deadline is coming up. If we don't trade for current Cowboys backup QB Cooper Rush (who did well in Dak's absence two years go) I'm going to be so ticked.

I wonder if it was his contract situation? He is also an abrasive personality. I tui k he needed to get over himself to some extent. Being a qb is a very mentally demanding thing and when your head isn't right you can't play. If your body isn't right it effects your mind. He played well week vs the Chiefs and then he spiraled. Essentially we sacrificed him through multiple levels of incompetence and then we get Watson because of it. I think doing the right thing often leads to good results and our treatment of Baker wasn't that. Watson was never the right thing. He was a gross person who didn't deserve the anointing of the head of a franchise.
