Browns QB Deshaun Watson Has New Charges Brought From Alleged Oct. 2020 Assault

Recommended Posts

The #Browns quietly removed a clause from Deshaun Watson's contract this offseason that would have protected him in the event of a future suspension, according to @JayGlazer on FOX. Per the report, if Watson is suspended again, Cleveland could reclaim his guaranteed money.

I’m guessing this occurred when they restructured his deal

Guaranteed cash up front and billed it as a restructure while removing a clause and sneaking it by the agent or else it was a compromise with this coming down the pike and bypassing a long legal process when the Browns move to void guarantees and Watson counter-sues

He had shaky grounds given it could easily be  argued that the allegations weren’t similar.   And this the clause wouldn’t protect him even then. But if that clause is gone anything is fair game.

Watson is hosed if the investigation says there’s cause for a suspension.

From what I heard, it sounds like he played decently today.

Under 200 yards with 0TD 0INT on 34 attempts and 5 rushes for 20 yards and a TE.

Thoroughly mediocre at best.
