Look at the top paid guys at each position and it will tell you how the NFL feels about the OG position vs the ILB position. Protecting your QB is incredibly important and that is what they do. I'd say it's a wash. My want at #8 would be an ILB over an OG.

Sucks about Ferrell... had no idea I would be shocked if Ferrell was even a 1st round pick this year. He seems like a solid player but no thanks at #8. Round 2 i'd consider him. We can still protect him without using the #8 pick on a OG. I'd MUCH rather keep our top 10 OG Sitton and pay him is modest contract for his play. I don't see the need to push him out the door. (Not saying you're saying that) He may be a little long in the tooth but he plays a position that you can get away with that at.
WindyCity
Can we set ourselves up well enough in free agency that we can go offense in round 1 and 2? I think we can get a top CB, but OLB seems a little tougher unless we go pass rush by committe.

Nelson would be a BPA pick. I would like to go OT followed by WR, but I am not sure that it allows for enough help on defense.

Regardless of that look at the last group of "sure thing" OGs that went top 10 top 15.

I don't think they have anything to do with each other, but that's a solid strawman Windy

Sittons history leads me to believe he'd be fine. He can play in a zone or man. He can also backup C which is a perk.

G08
Ya know... if his knee checks out, I'd draft Connor Williams at 8 and stick him at RT for the next 3-4 years and then kick him over to LT once Leno's contract is up.
