OT-Arguable that there are any elite ones

Now what?

Hang on, I'll give you an answer in 5 min.

Listen if there was a 2nd pass rusher worth the 8th pick I would be telling you that OG is a stupid idea.

If there was a 2nd CB worth the 8th pick I would tell you drafting an OG is crazy.

The problem is that Nelson is so much better than the 2nd options at those positions.

I would pick one of the following (in no particular order):

Roquan Smith

Highest rated OT

Joshua Jackson

Clelin Ferrell

Smith has about as much positional value as Nelson, but not the physical tools.

Being not as talented isn't the be all and end all tho because it's not that simple...on put talent their are no QBs who are more talented than Nelson but do you think any team in need of a QB is passing one up for an OG?...No way...the point is you need players who are going to impact the game and a Guard just doesn't do that enough...especially not for a team in desparate need of playmakers.

I think the 2nd round is going to be the sweet spot for the Bears and WR talent. Christian Kirk, Anthony Miller, Parris Campbell would all provide the speed element that the Bears are missing and give them a 1 on 1 threat.

Campbell is going back to school.

Not in this defense, LBs are yuge for Fangio.

I agree if the talent gap is close. I do not think it is particularly close between Nelson and the listed options.

Apparently all the Clemson DLmen are going back according to Tony Pauline.

The way it's looking then I'd trade back for the best value presented to me, I guess. If you can get 21 and 22 from the Bills you can potentially land Kirk and an OL/CB.

If you are realistically trying to make the offense pop in 2018 I would go

1. OT

-Protection is key and in addition to being not great at RT we do not have anyone who can fill in for Leno if injured.

2. WR

-I think this is the sweet spot for adding speed and a 1 on 1 winner.

But that leaves mid round picks for the defense.

MLB is the QB of the defense OG don't even call out the blocks like the center does.

position value MLB > OG

the only position with less value than OG is FB
