Richardson is not going to be a "real" NFL QB for a couple of year.  He should not be starting, that much we agree upon.

You have an asset in Taylor right now.  By the time Richardson is good enough to compete for something, Taylor may very well be washed.

So get what you can, now, to build around future Richardson.  I don't know why that is hard to comprehend.

Taking Taylor off of that team (assuming he's healthy) means they should win fewer games this year, which leads to better picks.  If you are team building for the future, moving him is a wise move.

But you and I both know, there won't be much value there via a trade.  So it's a pick your poison sort of deal.

I don't know why it's hard to comprehend the rookie QB's development will be hindered if you take away the running game. This is a kid who should not be thrust into a starting position, but Irsay is an idiot. You take away his biggest asset, he's going to struggle even more and the changes of him busting go up exponentially.

Those midround draft picks don't mean squat if you ruin your #4 overall pick in the process.

If they trade him, they can easily find a RB to hand the ball off to.  Taylor only average 4.5 yards per carry last year.  It isn't like that kind of production is difficult to replace.

For your point?  It doesn't matter who is or is not the RB.  The very fact that Richardson is out there will hinder his development.  That isn't a Taylor thing.

You feel that Taylor will "lighten the load".  The truth is that any RB, or RB by committee can very well "lighten that load".

Remember, Taylor was accepted to Harvard and turned them down.  He's very bright.  He knows what's going to happen to him if he plays in Indy this season.

It'll be an interesting situation to watch.

Hard to imagine any team wanting to give up anything for Lance at this point and time.

Maybe Tampa would flip them a mid rounder.

We have the guy that made him look good in college.

I really hope nobody does SF any favors here either.  Let them cut him then bring him to your PS or camp, if you think he is still worth the time.

Imagine the meltdown in Packerland if Gutes had traded the 12th overall pick in the draft and two more future 1st along with a 3rd for a deal sweetener to draft Lance.

Packer fans have lost their **** for the last three years over Gutes using a 4th rounder to trade up to land Love.

Exactly.  The trouble is there are not 32 guys ready to start and play well at the NFL QB position.  You either have to draft one and get him ready or spend a massive chunk of cap on an established vet.  Unfortunately that means you have to spend big to even get your hands on a decent lottery ticket.  If Love even becomes a solid starter, Gute did well.  If he's more than that, jackpot!  If he is less, it was still a worthy swing at the plate.
