Here's a picture Tom wearing gloves over his right hand to cover it up from press. I don't buy that he's really injured. Do I think Brady and Belichick are fine keeping the lid closed on as much info about Brady's hand as possible in order to create unnecessary media drama.....absolutely. Do I think Brady and Belichick would unnecessarily have him miss crucial practices just to screw with people.....absolutely not.
Soko
Apparently Brady had stitches on his hand from a cut he got on someone’s helmet. No broken bones, though.
Carmen Cygni
Speculative update from Dr. David Chao : http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/profootballdoc/sd-sp-pfd-tom-brady-thumb-blood-0119-story.html Quote Regardless, there is virtually no reason to think Brady won’t play. The question regards how well he will play.
LION KING
Hey NFL, Last time Brady had a bad hand ( Thumb) the footballs got deflated you might actually make sure that don't happen again! Just saying!

If the media is talking about this all week and asking guys like McCourty and Lewis how Brady looks it actually takes a ton of pressure off the rest of the team when they know he's going to be just fine and helps Belichick craft his us vs. the world narrative. Plus I'm sure those guys don't mind screwing with the media after everything they've been through particularly over the last month.

Uncle Buck
I heard a report from an "unconfirmed source" that Brady's hand injury occurred while he was trying to destroy his cell phone by smashing it with a hammer.

The guy is about as cool and emotionless as any QB ever has been. Without question, he's the GOAT.
NFL_Advisor
Tom is cool under pressure...but he is not emotionless... he shows emotions all the time on the field and the sideline. That pic would have been true on Belichik though lol...
