Really tried to play it close to the line with him and being short on $$. Agree that adding a vet pass rusher is a good idea, but the $$ might be tight and the pickings pretty slim. A safety would be a good idea.
squire12
Dang....there were 10 total teams that made offers on ASJ. MIN also put an offer in on Evans.

Kudos to the rest of the forum for chiming in and offering thoughts. I really feel that the best way to run one of these is to have a group of posters offering input. I certainly do not know enough of the players on all 32 teams, and the various injuries, background issues that players might have is hard to know. Yeah....GB is not really in a position to take on that type of salary without moving Cobb or Bulaga. Most are stuck on Bulaga having only played RT. Packerraymond
My targets for next round would simply be depth guys to round out our roster going into the draft. 1-2 year deals at no more than 1.5 APY. Guys that could be easily cut if beat out by younger players. My top choices: RUSH: Lamarr Houston (finally healthy in CHI he had 4 sacks in the last 5 games of 2017, think he'd be a cheap inside/outside rush package guy to play 10-15 snaps a game) DL: Shemar Stephen/Quinton Dial: Liked having that backup run plugger last year. Dial was fine, I think Stephen is a slight upgrade. OL: Michael Schofield: Can play OG/RT, 34 career starts, 3rd round pick, fits all the Packers athletic requirements. Spriggs/Schofield/McCray would be top 3 off the bench in this scenario and I think that'd be the best OL depth we've had in awhile.

squire12
Regarding the above. GB can restructure Mike Daniels and save in 2018 $2.9M Bryan Bulaga and save in 2018 $2.46M (restructuring him would eliminate the ability to trade him) Extension options Randall Cobb (must be 5 years, would save $5M in 2018) Jordy Nelson Clay Matthews Mike Daniels I will play around and see what we can do here with extensions.
