Knockin' on Valhalla's Door

Randy Moss got all geared up Thursday, but it wasn't in pads and a football helmet. Rather, the Pro Football Hall of Famer donned swim trunks and a khaki bucket hat as he joined 350 students from Florida nonprofit organizations for the 13th annual World's Largest Swimming Lesson. The event took place at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park at Walt Disney World Resort.

Moss: "We want you to know how important it is for you to be able to swim, understand what water safety means. They're here to have fun. What do they say [about Disney]? Dreams do come true here. The kids are coming and they're seeing Mickey, they're seeing Minnie, and then they're getting a swim lesson at the same time. Plus, Florida is hot, and they get to play in the water. I love being a part of something like this. Safety on the water is most important."

Free agent linebacker Anthony Barr, who spent the past eight seasons with the Vikings, and Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns are among four finalists for the Muhammad Alli Sports Humanitarian Award, joining Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols and Austin FC goalkeeper Brad Stuver.

It was a gift that they dropped on his doorstep...it's not really anything he did.  They could see the writing on the wall that the Pac-12 was falling behind in media money, so they were looking to jump ship.  Since the B1G and the SEC are the big honchos in media money, it only made sense for them to call up Kevin, since they'd be far better fits there.

Eventually, the B1G and SEC will be just the Power 2, and then you'll have the Big 12, Pac (10 or 12 or whatever) and ACC at another level, then everyone else.

The solution is no conferences. Random draw. Chips fall where they may. Alabama might play Clemson, ND, USC, FSU in one year. They might play Purdue, Coastal Carolina, SMU and Memphis another.

Far better than knowing that only 6 teams from the top 2 conferences have a realistic shot each year.

There probably hasn't been more than 6 having a realistic shot any year of our lifetimes.  College football has been rigged for only a handful of teams ever.  If they go to a "pod" system in each of the larger conferences, that may give some teams a shot they've never had in the current system.

It's a crime Marshall and Craig aren't in already.

Jim Marshall is why I became a Vikings fan. he was a DE like no one else at the time, or before him. DE's then were all about power and strength, which he had, but he was also fast and athletic with great technique.

like Jared Allen.

The Bucs have reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with 32-year-old former Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph, who will now catch passes from the greatest quarterback that ever lived, Tom Brady.
