the worst defense in the league to this point shuts down the Falcons

can't make this stuff up

NE defense is going to evolve into a decent unit.  They had a lot of new pieces going into this year.

Sucks to say it, but NE is going to be sitting pretty for a top seed in the AFC when all is said and done

And they are doing it with nobodies like Cassius Marsh, Kyle Van Noy, and Lawrence F'in Guy getting playing time.

Coaching matters.

Guy is on his 5th team and has been waived/picked off a practice squad 3 times.

But you're correct he is apparently a former "nobody" who has turned himself into enough of a "somebody" that NE signed to a decent free agent deal earlier this year.

thanks, now i know how to title my next thread: "Should we fire Edgar Bennett (our OC)?"

Makes sense....GB fires a special teams coach for losses.  Might as well continue the trend.  Scape goats and all that to let the merry-go-round continue as is.

TT will get credit for drafting him.  Count another feather in TT cap

I suspect Slocum was fired because his unit got consistently worse for several years in a row. The botched plays in the NFCCG was the cherry on top.
