Because Rick wouldnt have sent a private jet to get Sheldon if they had no clue on the money it would take to get him, and i dont think Sheldon would have came if Minnesota wasnt close to what he wanted. Richardson is a pretty big named/talented free agent, im 100% sure Minnesota and his agent talked numbers during the tampering period. The fact that its taking so long has to be a good sign as well, that seems like they're in deep negotiations. If Minnesota just gave him an offer and said take it or leave it, then Sheldon would have either been gone or would've signed. Assuming the two parties have gotten to the negotiations part of the visit. Of course there's still a chance he leaves without a deal, but most of the signs are positive. The Vikings are pushing HARD to get a deal done. You dont send a jet with your GM on it, wine/dine a player with everyone involved, and give him a full tour if your not all in on this player.
