But what guys around his current ADP do you think are much better? I think when you’re looking at RB2 types, I don’t see many that are significantly better. McCaffrey was...but his stock is justifiably rising. I take him in front of guys like Miller, McKinnon and Ajayi. I like Ingram more but you have to consider him missing time.

Tbh I don't like much of any of them. That's the problem. I think the whole group around that area isn't worth drafting there. Almost think its better to take best QB/TE available there and I hate picking those early

That may be reason enough to just say screw it and get Ingram who will likely be in the RB1 mix from week 5 on.

Solid. You have lots of guys I love. Juju, Agholor, Hopkins, Stafford, Rudolph are all going to outplay their ADP. Consider Thomas and Adams at WR...both should take a huge step forward this year.

Alright, so I use FantasyPros from time to time for quick mock draft purposes. I wanted to employ 2 different strategies and did 3 mocks for each strategy. 0.5 PPR, 11th pick, 2 RB/3 WR starters, must draft 4 RB and 5 WR.

First set of 3, I employed the RB+RB strategy for picks 11 and 14 then filled in with the best value.

QB - Matthew Stafford | Detroit Lions
RB - Melvin Gordon | Los Angeles Chargers
RB - Leonard Fournette | Jacksonville Jaguars
WR - Demaryius Thomas | Denver Broncos
WR - Allen Robinson | Chicago Bears
WR - Marquise Goodwin | San Francisco 49ers
TE - Evan Engram | New York Giants
K - Stephen Gostkowski | New England Patriots
DST - New England Patriots

QB Jimmy Garoppolo | San Francisco 49ers
RB Marshawn Lynch | Oakland Raiders
RB Sony Michel | New England Patriots
WR Marqise Lee | Jacksonville Jaguars
WR Cameron Meredith | New Orleans Saints
TE OJ Howard | Tampa Bay Buccaneers

QB - Drew Brees | New Orleans Saints
RB - Kareem Hunt | Kansas City Chiefs
RB - Leonard Fournette | Jacksonville Jaguars
WR - Doug Baldwin | Seattle Seahawks
WR - Demaryius Thomas | Denver Broncos
WR - Pierre Garcon | San Francisco 49ers
TE - Greg Olsen | Carolina Panthers
K - Mason Crosby | Green Bay Packers
DST - Philadelphia Eagles

QB Philip Rivers | Los Angeles Chargers
RB Kerryon Johnson | Detroit Lions
RB James White | New England Patriots
WR Sterling Shepard | New York Giants
WR Kenny Stills | Miami Dolphins
TE Trey Burton | Chicago Bears

QB - Drew Brees | New Orleans Saints
RB - Melvin Gordon | Los Angeles Chargers
RB - Leonard Fournette | Jacksonville Jaguars
WR - Amari Cooper | Oakland Raiders
WR - Michael Crabtree | Baltimore Ravens
WR - Jamison Crowder | Washington Redskins
TE - Travis Kelce | Kansas City Chiefs
K - Harrison Butker | Kansas City Chiefs
DST - Denver Broncos

QB Derek Carr | Oakland Raiders
RB Chris Carson | Seattle Seahawks
RB Theo Riddick | Detroit Lions
WR Julian Edelman | New England Patriots
WR Marqise Lee | Jacksonville Jaguars
TE Jordan Reed | Washington Redskins

This set of 3, I went with BPA across the board (usually meant Hopkins or OBJ were available).

QB - Matthew Stafford | Detroit Lions
RB - Christian McCaffrey | Carolina Panthers
RB - Alex Collins | Baltimore Ravens
WR - DeAndre Hopkins | Houston Texans
WR - Larry Fitzgerald | Arizona Cardinals
WR - Jamison Crowder | Washington Redskins
TE - Greg Olsen | Carolina Panthers
K - Mason Crosby | Green Bay Packers
DST - Denver Broncos

QB Derek Carr | Oakland Raiders
RB Lamar Miller | Houston Texans
RB James White | New England Patriots
WR Marqise Lee | Jacksonville Jaguars
WR Mike Williams | Los Angeles Chargers
TE Trey Burton | Chicago Bears

QB - Andrew Luck | Indianapolis Colts
RB - Leonard Fournette | Jacksonville Jaguars
RB - Royce Freeman | Denver Broncos
WR - Odell Beckham Jr | New York Giants
WR - Amari Cooper | Oakland Raiders
WR - Demaryius Thomas | Denver Broncos
TE - Greg Olsen | Carolina Panthers
K - Robbie Gould | San Francisco 49ers
DST - Denver Broncos

QB Alex Smith | Washington Redskins
RB Dion Lewis | Tennessee Titans
RB Carlos Hyde | Cleveland Browns
WR Calvin Ridley | Atlanta Falcons
WR Cameron Meredith | New Orleans Saints
TE Trey Burton | Chicago Bears

QB - Matt Ryan | Atlanta Falcons
RB - Joe Mixon | Cincinnati Bengals
RB - Alex Collins | Baltimore Ravens
WR - Odell Beckham Jr | New York Giants
WR - Michael Thomas | New Orleans Saints
WR - Michael Crabtree | Baltimore Ravens
TE - Greg Olsen | Carolina Panthers
K - Mason Crosby | Green Bay Packers
DST - Philadelphia Eagles

QB Alex Smith | Washington Redskins
RB Dion Lewis | Tennessee Titans
RB Carlos Hyde | Cleveland Browns
WR Marqise Lee | Jacksonville Jaguars
WR Michael Gallup | Dallas Cowboys
TE David Njoku | Cleveland Browns

Which strategy produced the better or more balanced teams? I'm still leaning towards RB+RB but I could be tempted to go BPA as well, yet.

Didn't think about it that way but yea thats not a bad idea tbh. His ceiling is higher than Drake and pretty much all the other rookies

Is it just me or is Burkhead climbing a little too high? New England RBs are still worrisome and they spent a high pick on Michel(although they lost Lewis too)

Hopkins/Caff is a strong 1-2 punch. Cooper you are drafting on his potential moreso than the substance so idk how I feel about that but he is a late 3rd so I get it. Freeman in round 4 is good and Juju late 5th would be ideal imo. I like Kerryon there and Agholor plus Rudolph is about as consistent as a non Top-3 TE can be.

Overall I like a lot of this

Breaking my balls here BK, 6 mocks in a row with 2 different strategies set up lol

Team 1 I like pretty much top to bottom. Good starters and depth all over the place. Stafford has a high floor and even some potential and Jimmy G has all sort of potential so thats a good mix. Definitely my favorite of the 1st 3.

Team 2 I love the QB combo and the RBs still but I like the WRs of Team 1 more. Olsen and Engram are so close that it doesn't matter imo

Team 3 is my least favorite of these 3. Part of it might be your WRs since Crabtree and Garcon don't do much for me. I see you went TE early which is fine but would have rather seen 1 more better WR than those 2 and think its possible. Also I don't like the QB situation as much

Team 4 is pretty close to team 6. I like Caff more than Mixon but Thomas more than Fitz

Team 5 is clearly my favorite. Starters across the board that I like although Luck scares me some, Alex Smith should fill in fine

Team 6 This one is fine. Don't like the RB duo as much as team 5 but there is a better 1-2 at WR here. Crabtree v Demaryius is the real difference maker for me as to why I like 5 more

I like Burkhead in the 5/6 turn. The Pats backfield is a crap shoot week to week, but they are a high scoring offense that loves to throw to the RB's and very few WR options. Plus Burkhead they trust on the goal line and in the redzone. I'd love him on my team in just this very scenario as my #1 bench guy. I'm ok with him as my Flex. I'd be nervous having him as a starting RB because of the consistency issues of how the Pats use their RB's. Honestly, if I can do it. I'd like to hedge my bets and take Burkhead and Michel. At least one of those two  are going to turn into a lottery ticket that could win you a league.

Idk if that’s the team i want to hedge my bets with unless its a PPR league and yoh think Michel will basically be Dion Lewis. I know the 2 of them were a good 1-2 worth starting together but that can limit you some too

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out what strategy produces the best teams. RB+RB at pick 11 & 14 or just going BPA throughout.

I am picking at 11 too and it just seems like RB-RB is the way to go. If you get just 1 or God forbid 0 you’re gonna be hurting so badly because round 3&4 is crap for RBs so you either have to reach or wait a long time again for round 5

Well, I'm in a little different situation. We start 2 RB and 3 WR with no flex. So the RB spot isn't as barren unless people draft for depth and neglect other spots.

I wouldn't complain if I went OBJ and then, say, Fournette, Cook or CMac. Think I could live with Lamar Miller or Alex Collins as RB2.

I'm at 11 too Take the best players but you really need to come out with at least 1 RB. I feel like I can get a decent #2 RB at that 3/4 turn.

Yeah. I'm just debating if having two RB1 caliber guys starting at 11 and 14 is smarter than taking a WR there. Is the gap between 1st and early 2nd round WRs compared to 3/4 bigger than the gap between the RBs. I kinda feel it is in regards to the RBs. I'd probably rather have Doug Baldwin as WR1 than Alex Collins as RB2. Especially if I can get my hands on a quality TE (Olsen, Graham, Engram).
