TBH Montana looked lost in the 1st and 2nd quarter too.

Yeah. Montana was having a rough go, along with Krieg. The Bills pass rush made it difficult for the Chiefs offense, and once the deficit ballooned in the second half, it was too tough to rally.

1993 AFC Championship

Kansas City Chiefs (13-5) at Buffalo Bills (13-4)

Sunday Jan 23, 1994
Start Time: 12:30pm
Stadium: Rich Stadium
Attendance: 76,642

Cold day in Buffalo for the AFC Championship. Bills are looking to get back to the big show for an unprecedented 4th straight trip. The Chiefs are looking to get back there for the first time in 24 years, this time under the guidance of former 49ers legend Joe Montana. Chiefs give a valiant effort early, but by halftime, the Bills are in control via Thurman Thomas on the ground. The Chiefs all day couldn't stop the run, and on offense were lackluster against the Buffalo defense. To make matters worse, Montana was lost in the third quarter, and was replaced by Dave Krieg. This loss for the Chiefs would start an avalanche of heartbreak in the post season, as they wouldn't win another game for 22 more seasons.

That Kimble Anders drop and tipped INT just before half was backbreaking. If they go into half down 20-13 that changes the whole complexion of the game.

Yeah, that was a huge turning point in the game. It's the worst feeling when your team is behind, they get a drive going, and some bull**** happens at the doorstep giving the other team the ball back before a 4th down.

1982 Week 1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-0) at Minnesota Vikings (0-0)

Sunday Sep 12, 1982
Start Time: 1:00pm
Stadium: Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome

Kickoff weekend of the 1982 season. The Vikings are hosting their divisional rival Buccaneers in the very first official game at the new Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. This would be be one week before the 57-day player's strike that halted the season. Commissioner Peter Rozelle was actually in attendance during this game, and spends a few moments being interviewed about the potential strike. As for the game itself, while a mostly lackluster/defensive first half, the second half was full of big plays from both sides. Tight end Jimmie Giles for the Buccaneers had a big game, showcasing why he was one of the best tight ends of his era. The Bucs attempt to rally after a small deficit, but ultimately come up short due to some quality defense on Minnesota's part. All in all, a decent game.

recently saw some highlights from games that took place around 2011-12 and was shocked at how vintage they already look. A lot has changed in just 9-10 yrs and don't notice it while its happening lol players equipment changing, teams style of play, uniforms etc.. forget how young current legends used to look and how age has caught up to their style of play(looking at u Ben R)

Also, in the first quarter, Tim Barnett dropped a TD pass in the end zone (and, there was a procedure call on the play). Then, at the end of the first quarter, Chief CB Bruce Pickens dropped an INT in Bills territory when they were down 7-6.

1992 Week 8 Cincinnati Bengals (2-4) at Houston Oilers (4-2)

Sunday Oct 25, 1992
Start Time: 1:00pm
Stadium: Houston Astrodome
Attendance: 58,701

Midseason matchup between AFC Central rivals Cincinnati and Houston. After starting the season 2-0 under new head coach David Shula, the Bengals have lost 4 straight, and now have to face the Oilers for the second time in three weeks. Houston themselves are in a tight race with Pittsburgh for the AFC Central lead, and can't afford to fall behind. The Bengals are essentially at the end of their time as a decent team in the AFC, and over the last couple of years it had shown with former players being cast off and/or injured. This would be Boomer Esiason's last season in Cincinnati, as he would depart for the Jets the following year. In this game, the Bengals and Oilers were locked in a 10-10 halftime lead, but afterward it was all Houston. Boomer never won a game in the Astrodome, even during his time as a Jet.

Super Bowl XXXVII

Oakland Raiders (13-5) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (14-4)

Sunday Jan 26, 2003
Start Time: 6:26pm
Stadium: Qualcomm Stadium
Attendance: 50,125
Time of Game: 3:50

Watching this game again, I knew about the interceptions that Gannon threw, and essentially how the Raiders were dominated by the Bucs' incredible defense with Gruden's help. What I hadn't remembered was how the Raiders' defense got completely manhandled by Tampa Bay. Yes the turnovers obviously hurt, but the the Bucs' offense seemingly had little trouble driving down the field a good amount of the game. Michael Pittman also had some big runs. Despite all that, the Raiders had a good chance to come back when they managed to cut the lead down to 34-21 late in the 4th. If they had managed to stop the Bucs on a 3rd & 7, they would have gotten the ball back with around 5 minutes to play. Remarkable considering the score was 34-3 at one point. The fallout afterward still resonates to some degree. Gruden hasn't coached a team close to as good since, and the Raiders haven't won a playoff game since the 2002 season, let alone barely make the playoffs since. This was also the last playoff win for Tampa Bay up until the 2020 season, Also the drama with Barrett Robbins that happened, and years later former Raider Tim Brown insinuated his head coach Bill Callahan changed the game plan heading into the game with barely any prep time. Regardless, even though this was a blowout, I still like to revisit this Super Bowl every so often.

Man, the Raiders looked so dominant in the playoffs in the run up to that game. I remember hearing later that a major reason that the Bucs won that game is because Chucky knew his former team inside and out. Had they gone up against any other NFC team that year they likely would have been SB champs.
