Well, it is a day for @Bucketheadsdad to be proud.  Buckethead found out today that it is official that next May, when he commissions from NROTC, he will be pursuing the career path in the Navy that he was hoping to pursue.  Tip of the cap to the future Surface Warfare Officer.  Your dad is filling a bucket right now......with tears of joy.

That's awesome @Bucketheadsdad. Even though it isn't the AF, it's still a good choice!

Grandfather, father (me), my uncle were all in the Navy.

My wife's cousin is a retired Army Colonel (Cardiologist in the Medical Corps) and will be administering his commissioning oath.

He is deciding whether my uncle (Air Force veteran) or myself (Navy veteran) will render him his first salute.  My uncle has bascially been his grandfather, since my dad died when he was three.  He's got a great deal of respect for him.

Better choice iyam.

I deal with DoD and the Services on behalf of clients.

AF = ABII (Arogance based in ignorance). Always preening, rarely producing.

Navy = Solid, subordinated to service to our country. And possessing technology that makes AF jealous.

It was a joke.  I'm sure there are examples of times when the Navy is better than the AF.

Where do you get your generalizations from?

What technology does the Navy have that makes the AF jealous? Because I assure you there isn't one branch jealous of another.

What do you do that you deal with the services?

That's amazing.  I worked at the AF Academy and was lucky enough to be a few of the newly minted LTs first salute.

My grandfather was in the Army during WWII, 100 years old and still kicking.  I joined the AF and have been in for the last 12 years.

Direct dealings with personnel from the Services.

Railgun techology, for one,

You are woefully uninformed or delusional. It mostly is an AF thing, however.

I am a lawyer. I have clients who provide services to DoD.

Ok. Lol the AF doesn’t care about the rail gun. But we do use the C-Ram and that thing is bad ***. Thanks, Navy.

I am neither uninformed or delusional. But you can think what you want.

I am a contracting officer who awards contracts to government contractors. We have very limited contact with our contractors lawyers unless something like a protest happens (in which case it’s normally lawyer to lawyer talking). Not sure where you have all this contact with service members.  But that’s cool.

Go Browns.
