The Best Actor Ever According to You (And WHY)

Its Robert Deniro.

He could do it all, hes the star in  6 of the GOAT movies of all time. Godfather, Goodfellas, Casino, Heat, Raging Bull, Dear Hunter. He just had the most range in his prime, he could play anything. He is funny as hell to when he wants to be, Kings of Comedy to Meet the Faulkers. I never saw Bobby D in his prime out shined on camera, he was just the the best-most believable always.

Honorable mentions: Leonardo DiCraprio, Jack Nicholson, Paul Newman, Tom Hanks, Edward Norton, Al Pacino.

Absolutely loved Phillip Seymour Hoffman's work as well.

Damn shame that he's gone.  He played so many great "older" characters, it is sad to think that we won't get to see him portray roles that would have been closer to his age, as he grew older.

Gust Avrakados in "Charlie Wilson's War" is one of the funniest "supposed to be serious" characters that I've seen.

Great to see Robin Williams mentioned.  His death hit me harder than probably any other celebrity in my lifetime except maybe Heath Ledger.  Best actor ever probably not, but definitely the most underrated.

Not the GOAT actor, but his acting skills are immensely underrated, he had phenomenal range, I think calling him one of the best entertainers of his era would be accurate.

He's a guy who is extremely versatile and did comedy, action/war, and drama.

Versatile in genre alone.  Can't call him versatile in roles when the closest he's ever been to a villain has been an angry and bitter baseball coach.

Meryl Streep is probably who I would give my vote to.  She is fantastic beyond words and most people know this, so I don't need to say much more about her.

Someone who I really enjoy in  every role I see him in is Michael K. Williams.  Obviously most people aren't going to think of him when someone ask the question, 'who is the best actor?', but he is so fantastic.  I would think he is best known for playing Omar from the hit television series "The Wire" and that is my personal favorite Michael K. Williams role.  Another note worthy performance from Williams is his character Chalky White from the television series "Boardwalk Empire".

A great character actor that hasn't been mentioned is Jake Gyllenhaal. The last few years he's been outstanding in a bunch of different roles, particularly in Nightcrawler.

I agree.  Gyllenhaal is one of the best of his generation.  Almost forgot about him.  He was great in Nightcrawler and also in that movie where he played two version of the same guy - Enemy.  And Nocturnal Animals is another good one by him.

He was really entertaining in Demolition too. He's been fantastic since at least 2014.

Isn't he supposed to be a villian in his new movie with Emma Watson? Or am I making that up?
