Just like buying from a breeder, you want to do your research on any shelter/breed rescue you look into. 

Yeah thanks. It seems like you have a solid unbiased opinion. Which to get is very hard when I talk to shelter volunteers because they will vouch for everydog ( I get it cause they work with them everyday and love them so much).
