So much about this is clearly false.  The offense finished 6th in scoring.  Granted a lot of that is bc the defense put them in great positions, but its 6th nonetheless.  We had a rookie WR catch 7 TDs, which is outstanding.  Tarik Cohen established hes a premier game changing playmaker.  We made the big moves last year.  Everyone needs to keep in mind there is a reason why these guys end up hitting the open market.  Who were the real big names that were available via FA this year, especially on offense.  Lev Bell? Yeah no thanks, I'd rather not spend big on a 28 yo rb with a history of injuries and suspensions.  The big names that moved this year, just like last year, were mostly via trade.  That's how we got Mack, how the Browns got OBJ, and how the Raiders got Brown.  It's how Flacco, Keenum, and Tanehill found new teams.  You dont question why the Ravens were willing to part with Za Smith, the same year they lose Terrell Suggs and CJ Mosley? The Steelers showed James Connor can do the same things Bell does behind that line.  Get used to this being what our FA is like.  This is what happens when you draft well.  You keep your own guys and you supplement your depth with good players who fit what you want to do.  This is what GB did for 20 years.  What Pitt has been doing for 40.  What NE has done since BB took over.  None of this is a bad thing.

That’s fair. I respect you

Plus last year was a huge, huge off season.  You signed arguably top WR FA on market and another highly rated one.  You signed one of higher ranked FA TEs.  You signed best OLB in all of football to a monster contract and you traded up in 2nd round.

It's not realistic to have another big offseason following that one.  You are plugging holes and finding role players.

It's also worth noting that the 2 biggest FAs were at the most replaceable positions on offense and defense, respectably.  Lev Bell and Landon Collins.  Maybe the fact that smart teams don't want to spend big money at those positions had something to do with it.

This is something I asked right away too.

Is there an explanation somewhere?  Not like they couldn't have resigned him.  They just dumped a bunch of salary.

Few teams let young good pass rushers go entering their prime. I didn't really see any Ravens games last year.

It’s ironic af that I’m the one being pessimistic about our free agency movements while you all are satisfied because every time anything negative happens regarding the Bears you guys are all falling apart and I’m making obnoxious jokes throughout to bring light to it. But truth of the matter is I’m kinda bummed how we did in free agency, I was kinda hoping for a game changer/impactful player for the offense like who? and what we ended up with were depth players for the most part and no one that I feel will give us a leap in the right direction right, because the roster is really good right now. These aren't the 2015 Bears that are complete horses***. Look at Pittsburgh, NE, LAR, NO. None of those teams made big moves. That's what winning organizations do- add depth and draft well. We replaced a good safety with a worse safety and as I've said numerous times, AA and HHCD was/will be one of the worst players on the defense. So what?, signed a no name receiver you're putting wayyy too much stock into a borderline vet minimum signing in Marvin Hall, an underwhelming rb maybe he isn't? how do you know?, and a return specialist that doesn’t add much to an offense although y’all think his average ypc on 20 carries makes him legendary not sure how you can say he doesn't bring much to the offense. I felt like last season our biggest hinderance wasn’t a kicker but a lackluster, underperforming, and overly safe offense. Our defense kept us in games and kept other teams in check while we squandered every single offensive opportunity in the same way our team always has when we have a solid D. We barely noodled our way into enemy territory on the few drives we would a game then would hope Parkey could messiah us through it most highest paid kickers do that for their offense. With no picks in the draft and all the restructures and cuts we made to make room in free agency I was actually expecting some ballsy signings but not a single one of them knocked my socks off. I very seriously doubt we’ll utilize Cordarelle more efficiently than Belichick did lol. I would seriously bet you that they do. Nagy's the real deal

Anyway, even beyond this, the bears need a bigger sense of urgency, stop playing captain cool/captain careful and getting rammed from behind at the last second like we did several times last season. Not gonna win a super bowl unless we’re ruthless. Pace traded up for Miller, up for Trubisky, signed 3 of the best weapons on the market, and traded for the game's best edge rusher all in a matter of  like 11 months. You really consider that captain cool and not ruthless?
