4th or 5th for Amos

4th, 5th or 6th for Callahan

I believe that's all for now

Just read on overthecap we have 4th for and 5th for Callahan. Looks like the cutoff point is 10mil per year for R3.

Aaron Lynch visiting the Seahawks today with the Raiders also interested...if Oakland spend big it's again good news on the comp front.

I just can’t see Lynch getting anything noteworthy contract-wise. Expecting a 1 year deal worth $2M or less. Might that be enough to net us a 7th round comp pick though? Gimme all the picks we can get.

He got $4 million from us last year...I would suspect he would get around the same this year.

I would think at least that.  For $2 mil why wouldn't we bring him back?

Seems to me Pace has something cooking for a vet OLB but as usual there's not a whole lot in the wind except maybe the obvious.....Houston.

The fit is good but not the cost is what I would think.  IMHO that would be a move you'd make when you see your window to a championship closing so future cap be damned let's win the big one now.

But we're on the flip side of that.  Our window is just opening and we have several more core player who will need extensions in the next couple of years and then more than likely our QB.

Why would Houston sign on for a year or two for far less than he's been getting?

Not saying it can't happen but so far I don't see and logic in it for Houston.  Am I missing something?

It’s ironic af that I’m the one being pessimistic about our free agency movements while you all are satisfied because every time anything negative happens regarding the Bears you guys are all falling apart and I’m making obnoxious jokes throughout to bring light to it. But truth of the matter is I’m kinda bummed how we did in free agency, I was kinda hoping for a game changer/impactful player for the offense and what we ended up with were depth players for the most part and no one that I feel will give us a leap in the right direction. We replaced a good safety with a worse safety, signed a no name receiver, an underwhelming rb, and a return specialist that doesn’t add much to an offense although y’all think his average ypc on 20 carries makes him legendary. I felt like last season our biggest hinderance wasn’t a kicker but a lackluster, underperforming, and overly safe offense. Our defense kept us in games and kept other teams in check while we squandered every single offensive opportunity in the same way our team always has when we have a solid D. We barely noodled our way into enemy territory on the few drives we would a game then would hope Parkey could messiah us through it. With no picks in the draft and all the restructures and cuts we made to make room in free agency I was actually expecting some ballsy signings but not a single one of them knocked my socks off. I very seriously doubt we’ll utilize Cordarelle more efficiently than Belichick did lol.

Anyway, even beyond this, the bears need a bigger sense of urgency, stop playing captain cool/captain careful and getting rammed from behind at the last second like we did several times last season. Not gonna win a super bowl unless we’re ruthless.

So much about this is clearly false.  The offense finished 6th in scoring.  Granted a lot of that is bc the defense put them in great positions, but its 6th nonetheless.  We had a rookie WR catch 7 TDs, which is outstanding.  Tarik Cohen established hes a premier game changing playmaker.  We made the big moves last year.  Everyone needs to keep in mind there is a reason why these guys end up hitting the open market.  Who were the real big names that were available via FA this year, especially on offense.  Lev Bell? Yeah no thanks, I'd rather not spend big on a 28 yo rb with a history of injuries and suspensions.  The big names that moved this year, just like last year, were mostly via trade.  That's how we got Mack, how the Browns got OBJ, and how the Raiders got Brown.  It's how Flacco, Keenum, and Tanehill found new teams.  You dont question why the Ravens were willing to part with Za Smith, the same year they lose Terrell Suggs and CJ Mosley? The Steelers showed James Connor can do the same things Bell does behind that line.  Get used to this being what our FA is like.  This is what happens when you draft well.  You keep your own guys and you supplement your depth with good players who fit what you want to do.  This is what GB did for 20 years.  What Pitt has been doing for 40.  What NE has done since BB took over.  None of this is a bad thing.
