Those are solid gets for the Colts. All three may make the 53

They are claimed players, so they have to be signed to the 53 man roster. They also claimed Matt Hazel and someone else (I forget who though).

I love that we signed McNichols to the PS. At least we're taking a close look. I loved him as a mid-round option for us (think I took him in the Are You Smarter Than an NFL GM picks).

Me too. I didn't end up taking him in the game, but that was just because of the way the earlier draft played out for me, though  I did mention him as being tough to pass up. I like that we are taking a shot on him. I really thought he was one of the better fits for this scheme and for shanny. Excellent hands, good quickness and mobility to get around the edges on those toss plays. Seemed like a really natural fit.

All this different terminology for different forms of acquiring players has got me confused haha. So what you guys are telling me is I'm not wrong then with what I initially said haha? By saying they "may" make the 53, I was in fact correct haha?

I think DB could have been addressed better but I gotta say I think we crushed it this offseason with the changes we made to our roster. I know a lot of you are nitpicking just for the sake of talking about the moves that have happened this past week, but this has met my expectations for this team moving forward. Who cares if we didn't sign some guy cut by a team in the last couple days.

Question: can we sign a guy like Brad Kayya, Brandon Allen or Kyle Sloter to the practice squad or do other teams have priority over us?

I really agree with you. I did think we crushed the first year of the rebuild. We focused our main energy on one important section of the team to fix a glaring weakness (front 7). We found some nice side pieces all over the roster. And we've essentially dumped Baalke completely already. There are already only 16 Baalke draft picks left on the roster (not counting IR guys). That's impressive. We kept 14 rookies. 5 were undrafted. That's a fantastic thing to do in Year 1 when you know 16-0 or 0-16, you essentially have nothing to lose this year. I mean, other than tight ends and cornerbacks (which get incomplete grades at the moment), and specialists (Dawson to Gould is likely a minor downgrade), I do not see a group on the team that didn't get better through the moves. And we held on to just about all of our draft capital, only (likely) lowering our 4th round slotting through various trades. Not bad at all.

Interesting thought....wonder who else we might look for. Have QB, RB, DL, and OT spots locked up - Will likely go WR, TE, OG, LB, DB for others and double up on another position (my guess - WR or DB). With Bourne and Bolden making the team, DeAndre Carter was my default guess as a guy who could make it, but I won't be broken up if he doesn't. Hikutini and Calitro are really the only two left that I really want to stick around.
