beekay414
People are also speculating about trading for Brandon Belt. He's owed a fair bit of money yet but I think he'd fit in well here. Great defender at 1B and is a left handed bat who can play some outfield too. Get him out of San Fran and he's probably a 30 HR hitter. Just because you trade a damn reliever doesn't mean you "might as well trade" a perennial MVP candidate. What is with you people lol. Hader isn't a do or die for me. We've shown we can piece together a bullpen and we have BP arms throughout the system. Our success is not going to hinge on Josh friggin Hader. I don't think it is wise to trade Hader unless you are 100% confident Knebel is going to be your closer. It probably wouldn't hurt to have both of these guys seeing we don't send Hader out on the mound in consecutive days.

I'm not worried about a closer or any reliever right now. 4 years of control should pull in a great haul and, with the volatility of relievers in general, I'm trading him. Hader is great, and fun, but he's also our best chance at finding value and filling needs.
Slinky
Anybody who thinks Yelich is re-signing with Milwaukee is nuts. Why would he? Other teams will be able to offer him more. And even if the Brewers could match those offers, he knows they'll have no money to surround him with enough talent to compete. He'll go somewhere where he gets paid AND has a chance at a ring. Maybe Braun permanently to 1st could happen despite CC saying it wasn't going to. Sounds like it’s close.

Fine. Yelich is definitely gonna re-sign with Milwaukee and they'll go on to win 3 World Series with him. Feel better? Sorry you can't handle opinions you don't wanna hear. Nobody is talking championships but to say they have no chance to sign him is being naive. He's locked in for the next 3 years making 1/3-1/2 of what he could make if he signed a 8-10 year deal tomorrow. The Brewers have a TON of leverage with him. A lot can happen in those 3 years and it wouldn't be a bad idea for him to cash in and sign a $300 million deal right now. Sure, he could be looking at more than that in 2023 but nothing is guaranteed Edited December 17, 2019 by Klone1 2023, not 2022

Jon Heyman - Brewers investigated Encarnacion before turning to Avisail and are still considering 1B. EE prefers the AL for obvious reasons and still has 5 teams in. //////////////////////////// Dont know if the end of 2019 was the gas tank emptying or injuries catching up to him - but when he was "on" earlier in the year - he was a guy you wanted at the plate cause he was hitting rockets.
